If your going to put 17- 14 Ravens why dont you just go for an onslot, Ravens 27 - Stealers 10

Haha I guess my brain won;t let me. I am not convinced 1 year of darft and FA is going to be enough to demolish them, beat them yes but then again who really knows.

Same here. I truly thought that last year in that playoff game was our turn. And it was for a bit. I've never been so sure against the Steelers in my life. But nope. I need to see us blow them out once, before I can predict it.

yea but thats the thing, its not like the Stealers have been killing us in the last few games, the last game of the regular season we should have won, And in the Play offs we were straight killing them.

In the play offs into half time ,if someone were to say we were going to lose i would have bet 200.00 that we would have won.

We all know the Stealers go through a slump every few yrs (like other teams do,its a given).

I think this is the Stealers yr to fail , especially with all their crap they are going through off the field. And if we do Sweep them you know dam will be using that excuse. Stealer fans are nervous, trust me. I think the Browns are going to be more of a dog match then them to be quite honest with you.

IM 99.99% Sure we will sweep the Stealers this yr, its just a gut feeling. Im hoping im right so we can put the haters to rest.

Mark My Words.

You know, I was prepared to say that Baltimore would probably loose narrowly like usual, but your post reminded me that this is Pitt's post-Superbowl year. Baltimore won 3 of the last 4 follwing their SB wins so maybe they will follow suit after a loss too.

Don't get me wrong, I think we have a great team, but there is an ol adage "Great teams find a way to win." In that regard the steelers are a great team, they have beat us into a place where we have no excuses. I would love to have seen us win but after they did when all you can come up with is, "Man we were killing them, until that pick, until that fumble, until those 2 drops etc." You have to know we did not give them anything they took it. Now did we give them opportunities to capitalize and come back, yes and unfortunately they came back and won and that is the damnable truth, as much as I hate saying it, so when we can win and put our foot on the throats and just hand them a butt whoopin we really can only stretch to say we are going to win, not blow them out.

I can't bring myself to predict a score right now, or at least i'm not ready to say out loud what I'm really thinking lol. The lockout has really put a damper on things, and both teams could have key changed in the span of 3 days once the lockout is lifted.

My prediction would definitely fall into the Bold Prediction category, but while Bold it's well though out and sensible. However with Marshall Yanda, our Oline and RB situation in limbo right now, I'm not sure how to view the offense going into that game.

After a couple preseason games I think we'll get a pretty good feel of how certain guys will be used. So that's when I'll partake in the predictions.

But I do think the Ravens will be fired up and ready to go. That us against the world mentality will be alive and strong thanks to guys like Woodley, Jones, Dukes, Clark, and others. I was reading the Tweets from McClain on BR.com and everything that was writing about him being a better FB then RB, he said he was using as motivation.

I think the entire team will follow suit with or with McClain, there is plenty of motivation to go around, because there's been a lot of people doubting the Ravens this offseason.

I just hope we win period, and with Ben starting. It would be to me the sweetest moment if our win came off a Ed Reed pick 6.

Agreed but you tell me 1 game other than that play off game that, thats happenned to on another team. You have to admit, that was some serious Fluke crap that unfolded within like 2 and half mins. Name another team that literally fumbled twice and thrown an interception literally back to back to back on their on 15yd to 35yd line. You cant ask a Defense to hold an Offense from the endzone over and over and over again with such a short field. That had to be soooo demoralizing. I cant remember one game that was like that. It was thee most Surreal game i have ever seen in my life and hope to never see that again to the Ravens.

Hell Yeah it sucked I don't think I have ever cussed that much in my entire life. I was screaming at the television debating on taking my 52 jersey off and start rooting for the cheerleader's. Cooler heads prevailed and I decided to keep the faith, as you know it wasn't rewarded. However it was not nobody's fault and to say it was a fluke isn't true because Joe and Cam together are a horrible Combo against the steeler's our D always hold's their own, our offense needs to take a HUGE step forward.

The entire Ravens offense struggles against the Steelers. If it isn't pass protection breakdowns(not just from the o-line) on big downs, it's WRs dropping key passes, or a penalty, or an untimely turnover.

We all love the D, but they've been culpable in recent losses to Pittsburgh as well.

Thats very true. Is it just me, or does it seem we just forget how to tackle against them? I understand Ben and Mendenhall are hard to bring down, but you still gotta remember fundamentals.

Oh i wasnt blaming the RAVENS D, they did the best with what they were dealt.

And as much as i Hate Cam Cameron, no one can blame him for the loss to the Stealers, it was just one fluke fumble from Rice (which he was sick and never does fumble), then a bad snap from our Center and then a horrible throw to Heap that was just lobbed up in the air that took 30 seconds to get to him so by that time the safety had time to run across the field from the other side to intercept the ball. Even though that ball should have never been thrown because he was the only one in motion going down the field.

Hindsight is always 20/20 after the play. It wasnt Cams fault but he sure as heck didnt help with his so predictable plays Over and Over again.

The only way we are going to ever Beat the Stealers is to throw the Ball on them, just look at all the teams that have beat them(they throw on them because of their weak secondary), Mainly the Patriots, The Pats to them are what the Colts our to us. They always have their number just like the Colts.

Since im on the subject of the Colts, i really do feel this is our yr to beat them, I know we could have beat them last yr but go figure they werent on the schedule for the first time i can remember.

I agree they are not what they used to be however, they were on the field entirely too much for ANY D to do well especially with the speed the steeler's have on the edge.

Agreed.

The Raven mentioned tackling seemingly always being an issue against Pittsburgh. That probably wouldn't be as big of an issue if the offense strung together longer drives, especially in the second half.

Ya it seems that we've struggled at making tackles in the preseason for whatever reason. However it was more of the 2nd stringers.

To be honest to me, in reality the last time i've truly seen the intensity on and off the field from the ravens against Pittsburgh was when mendenhall decided to try and talk trash to ray lewis. In that game our defense brought it and ray lewis broke mendenhall's shoulder. This offseason more than one steeler called out the ravens and Flacco specifically and basically told us we are not good and will not win the division ever as long as the steelers (mainly lamar woodley and flacco) are around. Well maybe week 1 this will actually light a fire under the ravens asses and we'll finally see the intensity, non-stop, for 60 full minutes. If we play that way i really dont think we can be beat. Our offense is too potent and our defense is too strong

Well as much as I despise Pittsburgh, Clark makes a point.

For such a great rivalry, one team seems to lose more than the other. I know someone is going to post the records, and scores, but show me the records/scores with Ben playing.

I really hope we can change that this season.

Let Clark talk, let them all talk. They are going to talk until they get beaten. Then they are going to talk until they get dominated. Then they are going to talk until we beat them in the playoffs and repeatedly.

I hate Tom Brady but isn't Clark the same guy who ran his mouth off at Tom Brady and got toasted when the Pats played the Steelers?

His Raven cummupance is on the way.

and thats the funny thing

People tried calling the Pats/steelers a rivalry, but i dont think anyone agreed with that, because Pitt couldnt beat New England when it mattered, and thats the same situation that baltimore is in

When sub-par players like Ryan 'what's his face' Clark make statements like that, you don't dignify it with a response. You just smack him in the mouth and b@#$% slap when you see him 9-11-11!

Also, there will always be one team ahead. Things go in cycles. We won't always be the team on the short end of the stick and when it turns around, the Steelers won't always remain the team on the short end of the stick.

Our time on top is coming, I believe it starts this year but regardless if it's in week 1 or not, it is coming.

No matter what, I like the position that we're coming from going into this decade. The position of the disrespected, of the underdog, of the one's who got victories stolen right under their noses. I like to think it gives us even more drive. There's only 24 hours in a day, and about 8 of it needs to be committed to unconsciousness, but I'd like to think every man can be more committed to his craft: can push himself harder and exert more.

Week 1? I can't wait.
