You're making up excuses for someone who says he's an elite player. If he's going to say that, then that's what I expect. Period.
What's the excuse? Where did I make an excuse for him? Why didn't Peyton Manning win a SB until his ninth season? Was he elite before he did it? Does it matter?

How do you define elite? Beating older, better QBs in the playoffs in your first few seasons? Because I have to tell you, it doesn't happen very often. If those are your expectations, you may need a reality check. Be happy with the direction Flacco is going, and stop complaining.

1 You make so many you don't notice them
2 Earlier ie "It's not his fault he walks into the biggest rivalry in the NFL and people expect him to make his mark right away. He's lost 3 playoff games, 2 to Big Ben and 1 to Peyton Manning."
3 Because he struggles in playoff games
4 Yes
5 It does if they say they are

6 How the dictionary defines elite
7 Yes (followed by more excuses)

There, you happy now purple glasses? smile and go finish your purple kool aid.

Well, if a rookie loses to Roethlisberger in the AFCCG, a second year QB loses to the greatest QB to ever play are excuses, then I guess some of us are jaded koolaid sipping fanboys.Pass me a cup please.

Exactly, they're not excuses. They're facts that should provide a wake up call to fans that actually EXPECT a QB to enter the NFL and win a Super Bowl right away. Flacco wasn't even supposed to start right away, and then all of a sudden because he has one successful year people expect him to go out and beat everyone and win the SB. It's a very immature way to be a fan. Like I said, Peyton Manning didn't win a SB until his ninth season. You think people weren't saying the exact same things about him? Some still do, and it just shows that they don't understand how hard it is to win one and how much luck is involved.

When/Why did we start talking about Joe Flacco, anyways?

More of the Men's Journal article is out - LINK - I think it may be the full thing, but I'm not sure.
He lives with the boys’ mother, a lawyer named Beth Tibbot, though they have no plans to marry. In 2008 he was arrested for domestic assault after a fight over their oldest son’s baptism. (She opposed it, but Harrison insisted. He wanted his sons, he says, “to know God.”) He broke down the door Tibbot had locked herself behind, shattered the phone she’d used to call the cops, and hit her in the face with an open hand. Harrison, to his credit, quickly copped to what he did, and the charges went away after he took anger-management classes, the success of which you can judge for yourself.
Nice guy...

How did they work "to his credit" in amongst all that?

Harrison is mentally unbalanced and should seriously be put through rigorous mental health tests.

Hey, as long as he can sack QBs, the Rooney's don't seem to mind. Smoking is a big no-no, though.

Lmao oh man. This guy clearly has no censor to his speech. Hell of a player, but he is a cancer to his team in my opinion. Good for a laugh at least.

can he be suspended for his comments seeing as he said them whilst the lockout was on
Goodell has said players will be held accountable for their actions once the lockout ends... that said, I don't think anyone's ever been suspended for saying something outlandish during an interview. Fined? Maybe.

I doubt they will be, though. Especially Harrison. How can the league see it fit to punish him as a player when they won't even let him be a player. I'd far prefer to see them punish Ward to serve as a deterrent. Even though this Harrison story has gotten everywhere, it's not really that big a deal.

Really? You don't think the players will be held accountable? Aqib Talib, Ward, etc making stupid decisions... Pacman Jones, Cedric Benson, and Kenny Britt making stupid decisions again... Goodell has to punish them.

Harrison won't be suspended. I'd be very surprised if he were. He may get a fine for using a gay slur.

Yeah I agree. Probably a fine from the NFL. If anyone is going to suspend him it would be Rooney who would have to do it.
