Ravens Beast

James Harrison Bashes Goodell (and Others)

106 posts in this topic

Well, the best part of it all is that I would not be surprised to see PIT send him packing. They dont put up with crap like Harrison has brought onto that franchise. They are a proud team, just like us. Holmes was shipped off, Roethlisberger was nearly traded because of their baggage that brought shame to the team.Let's hope the Rooneys do the right thing and send Harrison off to Oakland :)

My friend was trying to use the Freedom of Speech thing because of how people will jump on you about using a gay slur thus "taking away" Free Speech while I was only saying how if James doesn't like Roger he should retire, nothing about the gay slur(in fact I didn't know about the slur until he brought it up) and even if I did know about the slur I would have stayed away from that topic, and just stayed on topic about what he said about Ben, Mendenhall and pretty much I said the retirement thing because of his past history of hating Goodell.

Freedom of Speech gives you the right to yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater, but should you if there is no fire? Same thing sure you can criticize all you want, don;t be surprised or cry about being fined or cut.

Just another example of someone who can't control their emotions. How many times has anyone wanted to tell their boss to shove it? Happens everyday or multiple times a day for some but you don't do it because you need a job. That's basically what Harrison just did. He told off his boss and then proceeded to throw his teammates under the bus, which he has a propensity to do. This is a classic case of not being able to control your mouth. Think before you speak.

Exactly. Yes, we have freedom of speech, but there are consequences for what we say.

Squeelers are a mess charecter wise, they've got world's #s1, 2, and 3 idiots (Harrison, Mendenhall, and Clark), a pro <jerk> (Roethlisberger), an overatted and overconfident Lamar Woodly, and dirty player charged with DUI (Ward). This is all without mentioning past players (see Joey Porter, Santonio Holmes). I'm so glad we don't have them on our team! Brings me back to BMORElecacy's topic.

OK, I finally figured it out. It looks as though all those helmet to helmet hits have finally taken their toll!

The writer of the story has come to Harrison's defense but I almost think he's doing more harm than good.
As for his comments about Ben Roethlisberger, Solotaroff made it clear Harrison isn't the only member of Pittsburgh's defense that gets frustrated by the quarterback's sometimes-reckless style of play.

"I can say with some authority that there isn't a guy on that defense that's got a poster of Ben Roethlisberger on his bedroom wall,"
Just wow. Both of these idiots need to shut up.

You think any Steeler has a poster of Ben on their wall? Ward's called him out, now Harrison, and what the writer is saying now would suggest that Harrison told him none of the D likes him. We've all heard the rumours of a terrible personality, and his PR guys have done a good job of steadying the ship recently, but it's hardly surprising the team doesn't love him.

Looks like he issued an apology...I can't see him using any one of these words in his vocabulary.

Notice that in Harrison's apology about Goodell that he apologizes for using a gay slur to refer to Goodell, but not for making unprofessional remarks about him. I don't think Goodell or the Steelers organization is going to take that very well.

Tell your friend he should read the US constitution, there's nothing in there that says that requiring freedom of speech extends to private organizations (i.e. the NFL)

True, Ward has been very critical of Roethlisberger at times - and of course the fire-storm that hit him in the fallout of the 2010 offseason. You have to be a pretty big jerk to earn that ire in a city that loves football and winning that much.

I would kill for Joe to have Roethlisbergers "reckless" style of play.
He might not need it, if he continues to develop his strengths and improve in the mental aspect of the game. If he starts making faster decisions, he'll have more time to decide that he needs to run or get out of the pocket.

Ya know up until a year ago I wish the Ravens would have kept this roided out scmuck. Now not so much, it is going to be funny when in 5 years we see him on the news for killing someone for absolutely nothing.

I'd rather Joe was more clutch like Ben instead of accurate like Rivers.

Id rather he continue the progression that he's shown thus far and be a mix of both!

So you want Joe to be reckless and clutch like Ben...why don't you just appreciate the player he is, and the fact that he hasn't stopped improving for five straight years. It's not his fault he walks into the biggest rivalry in the NFL and people expect him to make his mark right away. He's lost 3 playoff games, 2 to Big Ben and 1 to Peyton Manning. I'm not ready to label him like so many are, and I think he's going to reward my faith in his abilities.

Not to mention this is the same guy who let his dog attack his wife, put his infant in ICU, and decided to keep the dog !!!! I like animals as much as the next guy but if my dog did that then he goes home with Vick.

You're making up excuses for someone who says he's an elite player. If he's going to say that, then that's what I expect. Period.

It was not so long ago that the Ravens were spanking a young Ben Roethlisberger... 2-3 in his first three seasons against us - including a game missed due to injury.
