I didn't have to read it to know how he felt about Goodell but I was stunned by what he said about Ben and how he pretty much just said how Ben is riding the defense and not doing nothing. James is half right, put any scrambling QB behind that offensive line and with that defense they will be successful. Though Ben is a great player, you can't take that away from him and I don't think James' comments will go over well with Tomlin and the Rooneys.
He'll just say that he didn't say all that and that the reporter put words in his mouth and the media is casting a black shadow over him and that they hate him and yadda yadda yadda...... and so forth. And you know, the way I'm reading Harrison right now.... I could actually believe that he wouldn't remember saying these comments. Who knows? He could've been on a roid rage and not have any recollection of what exactly he said. It happens. But that means that he's in a much worse shape than anyone could imagine.

I'm interested in not only what kind of chemistry this creates, or dissipates, that is; but I'm also interested in seeing the action the owner takes in dealing with him. The Steelers organization holds a value on teamwork, and Harrison has flat out went against teamwork with his actions here. Not only that, but he also has been in it with Goodell. Thats never a good thing for a player who gets fined repeatedly for his actions.

Steelers are normally a very classy organization, but a lack of structure this offseason has really lead to some poor decisions by some of their players. And it only takes one idiot like James Harrison to reflect poorly on an organization. And to think I was regretting the fact we got rid of Harrison when the Ravens had him. Definitely not anymore.

Lord no, I don't regret getting rid of him at all, only because of how he acts and talks. There's a point in time where you cross the line between smack talking and actually meaning and planning to go through with what you say. Smack talking is usually not true, its just to get a reaction. The line is crossed when you actually mean what you say and make threats about people and have intentions of going through with them.

I hate how he blames the teams he got kicked off of/cut because of his behavior issues. I'd think I'd only want to get better and show them up, not make a fool of myself. But thats just me.

I'm surprised people are surprised by Harrison's comments. After explaining his reasoning on declining to go to the White House after the Steelers won the Super Bowl two years ago, I knew he was thick.

Well no one could expect him to go off on his teammates like that.

Watch the Steelers like suspend him for a game or bench him for a couple series....

After getting cut a couple times from our PS kinda makes you wonder how he became the DPOY so dominant with the Steelers. Add to the boneheaded and frankly, stupid, comments and decisions he's made and you really start wondering if he used other means other than blood sweat and tears to make it where he is today.

Not accusing him of being a steroid user but everything we've seen and heard(or read) from him in the past couple of years kinda of makes one think.

I know legally there is the fact that you have to be proven guilty or otherwise you're innocent.... but I have no doubt at all that he's a steroid phenom.

I'm glad we cut him when we had the chance. Everything he says is just gibberish. Steroids are one heck of a drug....

So again, I am so glad our organization shows some class even though they don't have coaches and upper levels holding their hands this year. Let's recap.

Mendenhall's comments on 9/11
Hines' DUI
James Harrison proving there is nothing in that big head of his
What the Ravens have done
* Lots of youth football camps
* Ray Lewis has done a lot of acting lol
* Kept their noses clean

will that translate into wins against a roethlisberger led steelers team this year?

Expecting him to make the comments he did and being surprised by them are two different things. The guy is clueless and has demonstrated that before.

It very well could affect the outcome of that game. The Steelers could suspend Harrison for conduct detrimental to the team. Ward also may be suspended because of his DUI.

Harrison is trying to backtrack by saying his words were taken out of context and misquoted.

Honestly, I'm trying to see where he could've been misquoted, and I have no idea how the journalist could've twisted his words so far to even come to the printed quote. It sounds close enough to a direct quote since the words Harrison used were so strong and succinct.

Not only that, I can't see in any context where Harrison's words don't sound like he's throwing his teammate under the bus. If anything, Harrison's comments sound fairly consistent with how most of the league views him.

Hey, at least listening to Harrison bust his own team is much more amusing than listening to his usual bellyaching about people thinking he's dirty and not being allowed to hit anyone.

Message to Harrison:

If you don't like Goodell, and you don't want to play by the rules just RETIRE.

Wow.... I love how one of my friends on Facebook is saying how Harrison did nothing wrong and somehow tried to use Freedom of Speech to defend Harrison.

I'm trying to figure out how Free Speech has anything to do with what Harrison said about Ben, Mendenhall and Goodell.

Sure, Harrison has the Constitutional right to say what he pleases -- that doesn't make it appropriate or sensible.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the comments. I don't see how this doesn't create tension in the locker room, as it seems a bit suspect that Harrison would make any semblance of these comments to a complete stranger, but would then smile in the face of a teammate and act like they're cool. If I were Roethlisberger or Polamalu, I would be wary of taking him at his word.

As for Mendenhall, after his numerous comments over the course of this offseason, his opinion counts for nothing in my eyes. He reminds me of the kid that jumps up and down, waving and yelling, "Look at me, look at meeee!"

The anti-gay slur is likely to bring him the most trouble. The NFL has gotten real touchy about that. Nothing about freedom of speech includes the right to slur any group.

My friend was trying to use the Freedom of Speech thing because of how people will jump on you about using a gay slur thus "taking away" Free Speech while I was only saying how if James doesn't like Roger he should retire, nothing about the gay slur(in fact I didn't know about the slur until he brought it up) and even if I did know about the slur I would have stayed away from that topic, and just stayed on topic about what he said about Ben, Mendenhall and pretty much I said the retirement thing because of his past history of hating Goodell.

Kobe Bryant got $100K for calling a ref such a slur. What kind of fine do you get for saying it to the Commissioner?

Good thing his advancing age will bring decreased production and a descent into obscurity, so we don't have to hear his boneheaded comments ever again.

If you hated someone wouldn't you want to piss on them? I think that is more disrespectful than letting them stay lit on fire. Now if Harrison was really ruthless, he would piss on Goodell and then light him back on fire.
