I think he goes way too far. Goodell is just doing his job.

Harrison also makes himself look like an idiot once again through his comments.

Harrison has elevated himself past ignorant and ill-informed to flat-out dummy. There's NO way to defend his comments, I would expect better from even the stupidest of people...

One of my favorites from the article...
If the Steelers had defeated the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl, Harrison said, he would have whispered in Goodell's ear during the trophy ceremony: "Why don't you quit and do something else, like start your own league in flag football?"
Spoken like a true winner, huh? On top of that, bashing his own players and players / former players around the league. I wonder what Ryan Clark will tweet about this?

You can't punish free speech, though, just laugh at it... I'll be very interested in this article when it comes out.

And this is definitely something you laugh at.
His other descriptions of the commissioner include an anti-gay slur, "stupid," "puppet" and "dictator."
Him saying that Goodell is just a puppet and then stating that he is a dictator are two completely different accusations. It's like Harrison is using every derogatory vocabulary word that he has ever heard.

LOL two opposite ends of the spectrum, James.

When will these guys (primarily Steelers players) learn to shut their mouthes!!???!?
Not entirely sure but I think Ryan Clark may have deleted his twitter. Couldn't find it when I searched...

We were the best team in football in 2004, but the Patriots, who we beat during the regular season, stole our signals and picked up 90 percent of our blitzes [in the AFC title game]. They got busted for it later, but, hey, they’re Goodell’s boys, so he slapped ‘em $500,000 and burned the tapes. Was he going to rescind their Super Bowls? Man, hell no!”
WOW how can you talk like that about your QB? I'm glad the Ravens cut him. He ended up being a good football player but a terrible teammate. I can't even imagine one of our players criticizing Flacco even close to that degree.

"I slammed Vince Young on his head and paid five grand, but just touched Drew Brees and that was 20," Harrison said. "You think black players don't see this s--- and lose all respect for Goodell?"
Leave that card well alone
It's true fines are sometimes inconsistent but nothing to do with this.

Harrison....what the heck?? A lot of these other comments, like the ones on 2004 and the race card, are just stupid.

I'm not a fan of Goodell either, but I wouldn't say these things publicliy. Say them behind closes doors. Common sense dude. And since Harrison makes millions upon millions of dollars, just get the hell over those fines.

Where in the world did this even come from? Mainly the comments on Ben.

And what did he say about Rashard?

All I hear is "whah, whah, whah, whah, whah". Somebody forgot to take their slo-mo pills for the day. He sounds like one of the league's ignorant fans.

Harrison on Polumalu:

"He’s so polite and talks so softly that he could tell he could tell Goodell to kiss his ***, and Goodell would smile and say thank you.”

LMAO

It's not exactly surprising, he MAY be the most disgruntled/dumbest player in the league.

This public lambasting of his teammates is so "Terrell Owens-ish" it's scary. Come on James, put it in the past... And why weren't you able to get to Rogers in the SB ? Harrison is just starting to get a lil ridiculous with it now...

I don't understand the thought process about so harshly criticizing your teammates. Call out Goodell, Bruschi, Cushing and whoever else you want, and everyone but your own team's fans are gonna hate you. Call out your own teammates and you've got no one.

I'm glad we cut him when we had the chance. Everything he says is just gibberish. Steroids are one heck of a drug....

So again, I am so glad our organization shows some class even though they don't have coaches and upper levels holding their hands this year. Let's recap.

Mendenhall's comments on 9/11
Hines' DUI
James Harrison proving there is nothing in that big head of his
What the Ravens have done
* Lots of youth football camps
* Ray Lewis has done a lot of acting lol
* Kept their noses clean

Harrison is a beast, what else do you expect??? Beast as in a great player who wreaks havoc on the field like a monster, but tears apart everything off the field and doesn't know how to talk without saying gruesome sounds. Because thats all it is: sounds.

I can't believe Harrison said all of that. That was just straight up crazy. Gonna love to see the chemistry in that locker room. That is one guy who thinks he is way better than everyone else.

I'm interested in not only what kind of chemistry this creates, or dissipates, that is; but I'm also interested in seeing the action the owner takes in dealing with him. The Steelers organization holds a value on teamwork, and Harrison has flat out went against teamwork with his actions here. Not only that, but he also has been in it with Goodell. Thats never a good thing for a player who gets fined repeatedly for his actions.

Hey Harrison, learn to use proper tackling techniques! Stop leading with your helmet and the fines will stop.

What kind of bizarre thought process would lead him to say those things about Ben and Mendenhall? I mean, they didn't have their best games in the Super Bowl, but Ben made several huge plays in their playoff run (you know the one....GAAAHHHH). And Mendenhall ran through the Jets, which isn't exactly the easiest thing to do. I mean, Ben can't come through EVERY time, QB is the hardest position in sports. Obviously, without those turnovers, the Steelers had a great chance to win the SB in a high scoring game. But the Steelers D was impotent against the Packers, including Harrison. The game was close at the end, but only because the Packers dropped several huge passes. If the receivers weren't dropping balls, the Packers would have won more handily.

That's what I was thinking, too. He's become sort-of the clichéd bonehead football player. Brutish and big, on the outside, but angry and stupid on the inside. Scratch all the other quotes, my favorite part of the article is this...
It’s no more imposing, though, than the force that awaits me as I swing my Jeep onto the apron of a three-car driveway. He answers the door wearing only a towel and a glare that could scare away bats. “You’re early,” growls James Harrison, the black-hat linebacker of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the scourge of the National Football League’s vexed campaign to check concussive tackles. “You said noon. It’s five of,” he goes on, letting the scowl linger a beat.
That would've been enough to make any reporter run for the hills

You know, I used to think Harrison was funny and straight up.... now I think he's crazy and insane. A few may think its funny all that he does and how he brings his team down since we hate the Squealers with all we have. I used to think it was up until midway through last year. Now I'm sorta scared for not only people around him, including his family, but I'm also scared for him. He could very, very easily go down the path of Chris Benoit if he's not careful. I get the feeling that he's a huge steroid user, and roid rage is a phenom that no one can control. One little cross look at him or one little word that he doesn't agree with may put him into a killing frenzy just like the situation with Benoit.

I didn't have to read it to know how he felt about Goodell but I was stunned by what he said about Ben and how he pretty much just said how Ben is riding the defense and not doing nothing. James is half right, put any scrambling QB behind that offensive line and with that defense they will be successful. Though Ben is a great player, you can't take that away from him and I don't think James' comments will go over well with Tomlin and the Rooneys.
“I get dinged about three times a year and don’t know where I am for a little minute. But unless I’m asleep, you’re not getting me out of the game, and most guys feel the same way. If a guy has a choice of hitting me high or low, hit me in the head and I’ll pay your fine. Just don’t hit me in the knee, ‘cause that’s life-threatening. How’m I going to feed my family if I can’t run?”
First off that statement is the exact reason why helmet to helmet hits are now illegal haha. Because it causes long term harmful affects and makes you sound like that.

Second Harrison getting hit in the knee is far from life threatening...and he should be able to feed his family if he gets hurt because he should have saved his money...I guess that'd be Goodel's fault too if he got hurt and Harrison mismanaged his own funds.

Third... :point: James Harrison.
