Themacare Patches/back Pain

6 posts in this topic

So, I pulled my lower back pretty good while working on the Xterra over the weekend. Any members here use it? I have it on now and it feels pretty good.
I did read a lot of reviews. some people stated it caused burns and rashes. Though, I have this on for about 3 hours... I see no signs of that.

What is the general opinion on these things? like em? hate em?

I'm really ticked off that this happend, I've been doing great at the gym and the X has been getting some great attention too but this has me down a little bit. I feel lazy and I'm bothered by it. I sure hope it's not something more then a muscle pain and really hope its not a structural thing. When I'm able to get back to the gym I'm going to focus on stretching and strenghtening excersies for my lower back especially.

I use a different brand called "Body Heat" that stick to your clothes instead of your skin. (I can't wear the skin ones). Body Heats are GREAT. They last more than 12 hours and really, really help. I also use them preventatively for cold weather outdoor activities such as December Ravens games. My back will seize up when sitting in the cold. The Body Heats not only keep my back pretty pain-free, they keep the rest of my trunk nice and warm, too. They're like little portable heaters under your coat. I buy them in large quantities. Sadly, they can be a bit uncomfortable this time of the year unless you stay in the air conditioning.

Also, if you want to relieve the pressure on your back, strenghten your abs. That way you're using those muscles to stay erect instead of your back muscles.

Yeah...the ouch stick-to-skin factor is my only complaint about the Thermacare packs. But the ones for knees have kept me walking quite a few times (specially in the winter).

Sorry you're hurting, dude. Heal well!

Thanks! I'll check those out too. I'm in a switch room, the temp never gets higher then 66 degrees. They feel amazing in here! I also actually like the feeling of sweating.

The thermacare I have doesn't have adhessive that contact the skin. They only attach to the band. They go all the way around your lower back or hip.

Thanks for the eHealing too! : )
