Barry Bremen Passed Away

1 post in this topic

I'm surprised that no one here has noted the passing of Barry Bremen, who passed away on June 30th at age 64.

Barry Bremen was known as "The Great Impostor", for he would, from 1979 to about 1987, sneak into sporting events and impersonate athletes. He did this at NBA and Major League Baseball All-Star games, and also at a golf tournament or two.

He impersonated referees and even - get this - tried to pass himself off as a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader at a game in 1979. He was caught and arrested, all the while given the "bum's rush" out of the stadium.

Barry retired from his pranking craft, and returned to his profession as an insurance salesman back in 1989, I believe.

He will be missed.
