Ravens Beast

Worst Qb Next Season

21 posts in this topic

Who do you think will be the worst QB this upcoming season. (that actually plays) No need for statistics this is pure opinion.

We are talking Brady Quinn-like statistics here for a Mr. Cam Newton. I think he will get eaten alive this season...especially with the lack of off-season team workouts. He will do horrendous this season. Mark Sanchez won't be able to put up as many turnovers as Cam will put up.

He will throw 3 int's against us alone.

I would say it's more of a neck and neck race between Washington and Arizona. I might throw in Seattle if Hasselbeck leaves and Charlie Whitehurst starts.

Im going with the Titans if Locker starts. They are rebuilding and CJ2K cannot carry the load. Im betting on any rookie starter though.

Whatever QB the Browns go with. They have to worry about a healthy Ed Reed, Jimmy Smith and hopefully improved pass rush. Plus Bengals will be getting some pass rushers back and the Steelers, well are the Steelers.

Cam Newton (CAR)
Cam will have a rough time for sure. He's far from NFL ready, and like has been said, he won't have the off season prep-time that one would normally have. Not to mention, he doesn't really have very many weapons aside from Smith and maybe Shockey.

Jake Locker (TEN)
I think from the time Locker was taken, everyone knew he'd be the starter this year. Young's pretty much done with the Titans and I never seriously considered them to start Collins. Locker will benefit from having Johnson behind him, but with the disaster that is Kenny Britt right now, he's going to be slim at receiver.

Rex Grossman/John Beck (WAS)
Neither man should be a starter in this league, especially with a very weak receiving corp outside of Cooley. Washington just reeks of disaster this year.

Mark Sanchez (NYJ)
Incredibly inaccurate. Incredibly slow in decision making. Incredibly overrated. Santonio Holmes couldn't even help Sanchez look like a decent quarterback that deserves to be anywhere near the Super Bowl.

I was tempted to put Ponder and whoever starts in Arizona down, but I think both will be okay. Ponder will have Peterson, Harvin, Rudolph, Shiancoe, and most likely Rice to help him out. Plus he's coming from a pro style offense. As for Arizona, Fitz is going to be a busy man.

Locker, Newton, Henne, Beck/Grossman

I like ATDs choice of Sanchez and couldn't agree more about the guy being horribly overrated, but I don't think he'll be as bad as these guys.

Nah, Sanchez won't be as bad as the rookies, but he'll probably be the worst quarterback who actually has time in the league... who isn't playing in Washington.

I'll have to go with Locker. As mentioned, very little prep time for the rookies. Also, new coaches, new systems to learn. So even the vets will be struggling to learn the new system, again, with little prep time. CJ is gonna be facing 8 and 9 man fronts all season long.

Can't argue with that.

If Tebow starts, he's my pick!
I don't know, Tebow didn't look half bad last year.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Orton. I thought the guy proved himself pretty well last year.

Shame he took that with him to St. Louis.

I did know that, but I seemed to have forgotten that the Broncos ex'd him. I've been away from football talk for too long. The Rams are getting a deal with him as OC.

You and me both. I'm still not used to the whole football discussion thing. The Rams definitely made a good call picking him up. He should really be a benefit to Bradford and Jackson.

If Dalton starts, I may go with him. If not, it will HOPEFULLY be a close race between Ponder, Newton and any other rookie with the exception of Locker. I just have to laugh at the number of teams that caved in and took an overhyped QB far too early instead of waiting for a legitimate chance to get someone worth while (aka Free Agency). Let it blow up in their faces.
