Espn Ranks Nfl Fans

yeah they did have some legitimate reasoning why we were that low. We just don't have the history as other franchises because a lot of old colts fans may have starting cheering for the redskins when the colts did leave.

I dont care what no sports analyst say, they don't know a thing about us, and they never will. We show our loyalty to our team each game and for that, we're number 1!!! :D

17th is basically saying we are below average Football fans. I can understand why they have us at 17th but come on redskins fans, buffalo bills fans, saints fans and cowboys fans all ahead of us? whaa?

The same saints fans who use to wear paper bags over their faces and wave signs saying the NEW ORLEAN AINTS? or the cowboys fans who would boo their team when they took the field (member the bum dallas cowboys a couple years back) And the buffalo Bills? Who might be moving to LA or Canada. Only 8 consecutive sellout games? Ravens have 6 consecutive sold out SEASONS.

Ok, I understand the history behind all of these fans but currently, as far as fans go, the Ravens have to at least crack the top 10. I know some of these other fans are some pretty heavy die hards, but who else gets it bumpin like M&T Bank Stadium after an Ed Reed interception or a Todd Heap reception or a Ray Lewis 'you jus got JaCkEd UP' moment, like only the Baltimore Ravens fans know how to do?

once the patriots and colts have a down year all there bandwagoners will stop going to games, the ravens have had a few bad years and attendance never really suffered. and not to mention how loud it gets at M&T. I cant believe those imbeciles in oakland with there halloween costumes are ranked so high. they had trouble filling in the seats a couple of years ago. but if there was a category for stabbings they would win

I don't know of any other fans that radiate a players name throughout the entire satdium when they walk out on the feild. "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAP" "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEED" any other teams do that? I think not. Oh and I guess ESPN forgot to include who had the #1 feircest mascot in the NFL. But I guess that poll meant nothing to them, but I bet if bolt man would have won it would have been publicised out the you kno what lol. Don't worry about what some stupid tv show ranks us, we all know we are the best fans in the NFL and M&T Bank stadium is one of, if not the toughest stadium to play in because of all of us!

I understand the justification of many of these teams that are before us. Green Bay, the Bills, KC, Steelers.

But the Patriots? Colts? The only reason why they have a good fan base is because they are always winning. Back in the losing days of the Patriots or Colts, you couldn't find anyone to admit to being a fan. Or the Giants, they turn on their team faster than milk spoils in 100 degree weather.

Philly, sure they love their team. But does pouring used beer on other team fans, or scratching up their cars, determine "best fans".

Ravens fans know what it means to have a football team. Whether we are horrible or super bowl champs. It wasn't that long ago that we didn't have a team. And we truly appreciate our team for better or worse. Go Ravens!

well espn is right. we have a ok fan base because of the average kind of peeps go to the games. i've been to the ravens game we only loud when the raven doing good.Plus the music is a mess, they only play rock ,country, pop?????? wonder why????? where the rap for the few brothers that be out there. whick leads me to my next point. tickets are high. ticket should really low this year cause we all know we will stink this year cuz we got no solid qb,no oline and no cb that will stay healthy and a young head coach. That the bottom line cuz MJSMOOTH said so

I think we could be higher considering how insanely loud M&T Stadium gets every game, the amount of sellouts in a row, and other factors in light of the fact we "have the Eagles up North and the Skins in the South." I think for the "boxed-in" nature of our fanbase, and the fact we have only been in existence since '96, we have an amazing fan-base that keeps growing, despite obvious media bias against us.

Yeah I second that on the noise. This is an obvious bias as other teams complain about the noise. I mean even when we were in Memorial Stadium the sound was off the charts. Ahh, I miss those days, beating the hell out of that metal strip on the back of the seats with my foot. Yeah the sound of is coming back to me, the one that made every game sound like a million trash can lids being smashed together.

On another note, how are the Browns more hated than we are? Lets be serious, we all know that the Raiders are the "bad guys" of the league, but we are not too far off. Other teams hate playing us, other team fans hate on us, and the media hates on us, so much so they can't even admit to how much they do and gave us a 3.

My Father being a prime example. He has Colt's season tickets, and when they moved he got season tickets to the Redskins.

The way fans should be ranked is which fans stick with their teams through thick AND THIN. When you are selling out games, and filling the stadium when having a bad year (Like last year) that shows some true loyalty.

if i remember it correctly, pre-manning and brady era these teams def struggled with getting people to come to their games. my cousin lives out in indy and he told me that it got so bad that they had free parking for a while.

Where've you been Mac? Good to see you around again. :P

As far as this survey goes, I don't intend to read it. First, it's a bias not-so-national survey, secondly, it's espn, and finally, who cares? We know we're Number 1, right? I think we're the best fans, most of my friends think so, that's all that matters to me. 4get espn! Those geeks don't know Diddley! :D

Wow, that's too bad. That's so opposite of everyone I knew. We, too, had season tickets. No way, no how were any of us going care about the Skins and 4get the Irsays! Most of my friends followed either the Ken Anderson turned Terp QB Boomer Esiason Bengals or the Joe Montana 49ers after '83, or simply stopped caring about the NFL.

We do have a great football history in the city of Baltimore dating back to the early 1950's. When the Colts left the city their history stayed and it never made it to Indianapolis. The way I see it is we were in a state of football limbo until football returned to us. Redskin fans get on my nerves. They tell me I'm a "bandwagon" fan. Then they ask me who was my team before I was a Ravens fan. So, I tell them the sad truth. "I didn't have one before the Ravens." Looking back that's a very sad statement that I grew up without a football team, but it's very true. Baltimore didn't have a team, so I didn't have a team. I didn't have a favorite team just favorite players. Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Lawrence Taylor, Jerry Rice, and Joe Montana just to name a few. I like the player, but it didn't mean I had to root for their team. I never liked the Lions but Id watch them a lot just because of Barry Sanders but I never considered myself a Lions fan. The way I see it the Redskins have bandwagon fans because some Baltimore Colts fans sold out and jumped aboard with the closest team in the area. A lot of fans I know who were die hard Baltimore Colts fans stayed Baltimore Colts fans forever and never changed their mind until Baltimore got it's team back. Now they're die hard Ravens fans because D.C. is NOT Maryland. If they won a Superbowl they're not having a parade in MD, when they're players do fundraisers they usually take place in D.C., and when they give back to the community their community is D.C. Baltimore has the highest win percentage at home in football. That proves we are #1 in my book.

Actually, I can remember last year in the final game against the Steelers, some of the Raven's fans who had tickets for that game started selling them to Steeler's fan becuase of the disapointing season. So I wouldn't say we stuck with them all the way last year. And im speaking in general. I know myself and many of you on here stuck with them all the way.

Some, maybe, but it wasn't very many. I was at the game and there were not all that many Steeler fans in attendance. The house was still packed with Ravens fans.
