2008 Rule Changes

NEW NFL RULES FOR 2008

A number of playing-rules changes have been made for this season.

Following are the changes, with comments from NFL head coaches and executives:

-- DEFENSIVE HELMET RADIOS: Teams will now be permitted to have one defensive player on the field with a radio in his helmet. This gives the defense the same ability to communicate its signals as the offense.

I think this was an overall good batch of rule changes. I'm very happy with the last one. I always found it horribly unfair that offensive players weren't called for grabbing the face-mask.

I esp. like the forceout rule being eliminated. forceout was determined mostly by the judgment of the refs, and i don't like their judgment.
