Here's an interesting article on the CBA. Interesting take on old- versus new-school owners and large-versus small- market teams as far as forcing teams to spend all the money allowed in the salary cap. I wonder where Bisciotti is on this? Or the Rooneys?

Looks like Rooneys are big spenders and the low teams are what I expected-- Cinci, KC, Carolina,Jacksonville, Arizona and Tampa Bay but I am not sure how much of this is lost free agents.

Actually this one of 'proposed' cap numbers from [url="http://www.altiusdirectory.com/Sports/nfl-salaries.php"]last year is just as telling[/url] and we are in the middle and these were the official cheapskates:
Panthers: $110.9 million.

Rams: $109.1 million.

Chargers: $108.0 million.

Bills: $105.3 million.

Broncos: $102.9 million.

Bengals: $100.8 million.

Cardinals: $97.8 million.

Jaguars: $89.5 million.

Chiefs: $84.5 million.

Buccaneers: $80.8 mi


Looks like we are in the middle third along with the Browns and Steelers. Redskins and Cowboys are ridiculous. Most of the playoff teams fall in the middle too.

It appears to me that quite a few of the so-called small market clubs in the league don't have the "mad money" to throw around. Their priorities seem to be in order, likewise quite a few of the clubs in the middle third and some in the top echelons.

However, should some of the small market owners try to push the issue, I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them try to break away and form their own circuit - if you understand, then we can understand togethere as fans here.
