for those who dont want to watch the entire video skip to 2:50

Personaly i think ESPN is just bleeding for NFL news... anyways ive heard numerous people stating that Ed dosent like Harbs, and the players dont respect him, etc.
Honestly, who didnt want Rex as the Head Coach??? Ozzie knew what he was doing when he hired Harbs and not Rex. I just want to hear what other people think on this topic

It's just the media picking up on one thing said and blowing it out of proportion as usual. Ed didn't say anything about Coach Harbaugh in that interview! He was just being honest and expressing his love and admiration for Rex.

Just because he wanted Rex as HC at the time doesn't mean he doesn't support or admire Harbaugh.

Anybody who DOES NOT worship at the alter of EVERY decision made by the Ravens, know the Ravens made a mistake. All that can be done now is to wait for the boy to learn how to do his job.

different people respond differently to different coaching styles. In my experience you can typically generalize a coach as:

A) a players coach, almost like a friend; however, will snap at you if you screw around etc, as long as you're working hard he'll be your best friend. These coaches typically have laxer practices as players do not fear the coach; however, the players and coach develop a strong relationship, and the players will give it everything they have for their coach.

B) A super serious, no BS type coach. These coaches snap at everyone, all the time, seemingly for no reason. These coaches can get mixed results, some players will respond by working hard and thrive in such an environment, others will be like "WHO DOES THIS GUY THINK HE IS!".

Rex, despite being a pompous idiot during interviews and such, is a very knowledgeable players coach, who obviously receives a lot of respect from everyone thats played for him.

Meh, that was a good interview. The media is "the media." That was obvious when Ed was asked about Woodley's quote and they immediately flashed to a photo of Ed's buddy Hines Ward. "Espn." *sigh*

Ed Reed either played for or was around Rex for 6-7 years before he became a Head Coach. Why wouldn't he want him to be his Head Coach. I'm sure guys like Ray, Suggs, Gregg, and probably even Dawan and Ngata, feel the same way. Just like ED said, Rex was like a father or big brother, and those guys knew he would make a great HC, so why not be their coach?

No where did Ed Reed say Harbs isn't a good coach or he wouldn't play for Harbs, or that he can't wait to get out of Baltimore and get to New York to play with Rex.

I bet if the same question was asked about Bart Scott, AD, Jimmy Leonhard and any other defensive player that was lost to free agency, Ed would respond in a similar fashion. Something like oh man we love those guys, they're like brothers. We wanted them to stay. I wouldn't mean that Ed doesn't like Suggs, because he wanted AD to stay on the field. Doesn't mean he doesn't like McClain and Ellerbe because he would have like Bart Scott to stay.

This is a none story, and something that everyone pretty much already knew. This whole, players love to play for Rex and don't like Harbs is getting out of hand.

I want to see just how much those Jets Free Agents, love Rex. I wanna see if they take less money just to play for Rex. I have no doubt that players love to play for Rex, because he makes things fun as a fan, so I can only imagine as a player. However, this defense nor anyone on the team, has never not played hard for Harbs and the Baltimore Ravens. For anyone to imply that, is foolish imo.

Threads like these should get deleted quickly, not only is the media reaching for something to talk about but we ( people on this forum ) are too. I was hoping no one made a thread about this when I read it a few days ago .

this is not news!

just because Ed mentioned that he thought that Rex would get the HC job for the Ravens and that he admires Rex (like most of the Ravens defensive players do cause he built that attack mentality in them) DIDN'T mean that he doesn't presently like, respect or will not play for coach Harbaugh. smh!

there is nothing to see here people....keep it moving!

Should have gone the Ray Lewis route. Maybe its just my personality but when someone calls out my team, and particularly the defense for losing itself, I dont care how long you coached me for I have no love for you. Ill always love Ray for blowing up Keller, and walking off the field without shaking Rex's hand. Baller.

I Like what Ed said to Lamar Woodley," we are coming and his life time might be shortened because it is going to be a dog fight." Well said Ed well said!

When he said they wanted Rex as Head Coach, Harbaugh did not exist in their conscience while all of them grew with Rex coaching them! So when Ed said the players wanted Rex as Head Coach, it does not have any bearing with Harbaugh and whether they like him or otherwise.

Exactly right. It is more of a statement out of respect towards Rex over an insult to Harbaugh. Ravens getting to the playoffs 3 years in a row since Harbaugh took over means he is doing something right.

Coach Harbs and Ed have a great relationship from what I've seen/heard. You can see pride and respect in Harbs eyes when he talk about Ed.
