Mass Effect 3 approaching , the wife and I talked we got about 200 to spend on upgrades for the pc , currently set up as such

Athlon 7750BE Kuma 2.7 @ 3.0
2Gb Pc2 8500 Geil Black Dragon ( no longer sold in the usa)
Asus M3A76-CM motherboard
MSI Radeon HD4770 512MB

1 80GB Seagate - Windows Vista U 32bit
1 1TB Hitachi G3 Deskstar

Monitor - Acer 20' Wide screen running res at present 720p.

any recommendations would help.

Thats a 64bit cpu, so if you are able to upgrade to Windows 7 64bit, you could get a good boost. Also it will open up more ram usage as 32bit caps ram usage at 2.8gb. Grab a good set of 4gb ddr2, its cheap. Overclock that cpu more if you can.


Also, a ati 5770 gpu would be great for your setup and budget. You might need to upgrade your power supply for it, but I'm not sure of the wattage as you did not specify it.

with these upgrades you should be able to jack the resolution to whatever you need and play ME3 maxed out. only thing holding you back would be your cpu, and it could bottleneck the GPU to some degree, but not too much. Maybe look for a AM2 Quad core, that would help aswell...

in the future, you might want to upgrade your board to AM3 socket, to support the newer AMD chips.

thnx boh man I been looking at a pair of Kingston Hyper X 800 2Gbs or maybe they have have Patriot Xtreme series that looks good thier RMa is alot better then most companies the Patriot is about 59 bux used to be almost 70.
