IFAF Senior World Championship 2011

I don`t know how many of you are interested in none NFL Football but in some weeks the IFAF will play the Senior World Championship. It`s the 4th Time the Championship is played. Teams from Australia, Germany, France, Mexico, Canada, Japan,USA and Austria will compete for the title of World Champion in Graz, Innsbruck and Vienna.

The USA are the defending Champions. They won the Title vs. the old Champions Japan in Japan 2007.

Overe here in Germany we just got the information that the Games of our Team Germany will be shown live on Eurosport 2. That includes a game on July 10th between the USA (defending World Champion 2007) and Germany (defending European Champion). Kickoff is at 16:00 in your Timezone (22:00 over here).

I don`t know if you get the Channel (Eurosport 2) or if a US-Channel will show the Games of your Team. Or if there will be a Livestream via Internet.

I just thought it’s maybe a good way to shorten the Off-Season a little bit.

This is very interesting, thank you for bringing it to our attention. I like to watch football no matter what the stage is; whether it's high school, Arena, NFL, or even CFL. I'll look out for it and if it's on I'll be sure to watch it.

I have got tickets for the Final and the 5th place game, so i will probably see USA vs. Japan and hopefully i will se my austrian team play in the other game

too bad im too young to play for my country in this years Championship would love to play for a championship at home

Mexico beats Germany 22:15 with a TD under 2 min to play!

The Mexican Special Teams won the Game!

Only chance for Germany to reach the PO would be a win over the USA (I don`t see Australia winning a Game) on Sunday...but I don`t think Germany has a Chance.

Considering that the USA had such a margin of victory over the Aussies, there should be little doubt as to the outcome.

As for our next two opponents, I imagine the Mexicans should be quite a formidable opponent, as the Mexicans started playing American football during the Seventies, primarily fueled by telecasts of American football on Televisa television.

I heard that our (Germany) starting QB decided not to make the trip close to the departure to Austria. Our QB Joe Ulrich was the starter over the last Years but he isn`t the youngest anymore. I think our QB from the Hamburg Blue Devils would have been the better option … but he didn`t survive the final cut from the 75 men Roster to the 45 men Roster.

The Game between Mexico and Germany was pretty rough today and the Mexicans had allot late hits and penalties. Our starting RB Danny Washington (born on a German US-Base) was out after a late spearing to the back of his helmet after he was already tackled and the play was over.

But after all Mexico deserved the win! Germany had problems in the Special Teams … but the game was close to the end and could have gone the other way.

I think the keys for the US-Team is the passing Game, the Mexican D looked pretty worse against short and middle ranged passes. And for the US Defense it´s shutting down the Mexican running game.

And for the Game between the USA and Germany on Sunday …. I think the USA will win at least with 14-21 points more on the board than Germany… but I think I won`t be so easy like the game against Australia today! Australia might be the weakest team in the tournament. They didn`t played international since 1999.

Mexico beats Australia 65:00 ... 4 Points more than the USA in Game 1! So I expect a good game between the USA and Germany in about 40minutes!

I have just been to the IFAF web site and learned that the United States have gone through the first round undefeated! 3-0 for the first round!

Our country is now in the gold medal game, and it looks like we'll be facing Canada, as the Canadians have also gone undefeated for the first round in their group.

This is a game I'm looking forward to, friends!

You guys have to know that there USA, Canada, Japan and Mexico are playing on the same level with basically Germany, Austria and the French not really having a shot at playing for a medal

It was clear to me that the USA will play for the gold medal because they have the most talented team in the tournament slightly better than the Canadian team, despite not sending top caliber players to the championship

Canada and Japan in my opinion would have both deserved to be in the championship game, canada is more talented and are stacked at every position constantly using 3 RBs in every game. on the other hand Japan have the discipline technique agility and chemistry to play at the level like the USA and Canada

What I wanted to say is that I am very proud of the Austrian team, I am from Austria, because you could see that they played their hearts out against Canada and Japan and really challenged them until the end of the game. and it has to take real passion to work 9 hours a day and still go to practice every other day to stay in shape and put up that kind of a performance against pro football players

I know the german guy will hate me for this but i think that austria is the best european team and the best non pro league country, we just had 6 minutes of horrible football in the third quarter against france thats why we lost and only played the placement game for 7th place, by the way we won that game against australia 48-10 with the back ups playing in the fourth quarter

I will be attending the championship game tomorrow and guys I will be cheering for the USA to win it all

I don`t hate you... I don´t really like the way we were playing. Our bad Special Teams cost us the Game vs. Mexico and made it easy for the USA. Well the European Cup will be played in 1214… than we can see what Austria can do on the Field vs. Germany… we will keep the trophy shiny until then!

I think the USA and Canada deserve the Final game. Over here in Europe it`s not a pro sport and we have still a lot to learn.

I relay hope the USA will win today!

I also didnt like how we played against France but against Japan and Canada we put up a great fight. I think Special Teams is the biggest differnce between pro and amateur football from the coaching point of view because when i watch the austrian league play it seems to me that they block just some guy without any assignment just to say they blocked someone

Yeah germany was the best team in the tournament because they won the games they had to win and played great against mexico and USA
but i still have nightmares of the group game last year against germany we should have won that one...
