Tyrod Taylor

Met Tyrod Taylor yesterday at Michael Vick's youth football camp at Hampton University yesterday. Very down to earth young man. He took time out to take a picture with my daughter and I. We talked quite a bit about the Ravens work-out at Towson and his initial experiences of now being a pro. He stated that he text Flacco everyday regarding the playbook. He actually had some of it w/ him. He says he carries it everywhere. I would attach the photo but I can find a picture upload option in the forum.

That is all.

What really sucks is if this guy turns out to be half the pro i think he can be then it is a waste. he is going to be very valuable trade bait that we may be luck to get a 3rd rounder out of it, which is a small price for a franchise QB, because we already have ours. So yeah good job Tyrod and keep at it hopefully you will be a playmaker for US.

I really think highly of Tyrod as well. Hopefully he can be a Kolb, Schaub, type in terms of hype. Maybe they'll be a few team to see him perform well in preseason. Maybe we can be in a position to have a #1 or #2 locked up in the last week of the season for a couple years, and Tyrod gets to start.

If that happens maybe the Ravens can shop him for much more then a 3rd rounder.

Hopefully you are right. But the problem is going to be getting him exposure sitting behind our franchise QB. most teams are going to want to see consistency instead of flash in the pan but hey if we could turn a 6th round pick into a 3rdor by some huge stroke of luck a 1st we still win.

Everyone be careful on these boards praising any QB that you can't go "Wacko" for. You will be hated on by the masses! Fair warning!

And honestly, it's a tad bit early to start referring to Tyrod Taylor as a "franchise QB."

well a lot of die hard hokie fans think he's the best QB to ever come out of virginia so they think he's better than you know who (Vick). I however believe Tyrod is a more complete QB coming out of college, but Vick is definitely the bigger threat and always will be; however, if Tyrod developed into a M.V 2.0 ....watch out haha

Let's say Ty is Vick 2.0, so here is the question who is truly our franchise QB. And to those people whose pointers are on the minus button I don't think he will be Vick, and still think Flacco is our Franchise guy. It ought to be fun to watch though. :258801:

Not sure we have a franchise guy yet though. The jury is still out on Flacco. I need to weigh the evidence. I know other fans will hate this, but it is true. Flacco stunk it up two years in a row against the Steelers, thats just sad.

Saw a bit of Tyrod on Year of the Quarterback, it's all up on youtube. Seems a great young guy, a good pick for the franchise and someone we can develop

Very few have had great success against their top rival within their first few years in the league. This is the year.....we will (need to!!) see vast improvement!

I really do believe people forget it was his THIRD YEAR. He has a higher QB rating in his first THREE years than Manning, Brady, Rivers, Brees, and guess who else Matt Ryan. the only Qb that is top 10 that he has not outperformed in the first THREE years is who else.... Big Ben.

To say that he may not be our franchise QB, I am just not sure how that can be said with any kind of accuracy. I mena I respect you opinion and you are well entitled to it however, can you give me any empirical proof that he is not the guy other than how he plays ONE team.

the guy has some skills... but so did jamarcus russell "in college"... it all depends on how he prepares and uses what is around him and takes advantage of it

Jamarcus caught the fancy of the eye of Al Davis. He had a great sugar bowl against a mediocre Notre Dame defense. He was also helped by the fact that the 2nd QB drafted that year looked like trash in the same game.(Brady Quinn) Also, the Heisman trophy winner lost the national game. Troy Smith and Chris leak both are vertically challenged.(6'1" and5'11") No QB that year could phsically compar to his size and arm strength. Those factors coupled with the normal predraft BS made him a pot of gold with Al Davis looking the end of the rainbow. Jamarcus with his new found richs developed a snacking problem. Jamarcus only skills are drinking that purple stuff and packing on the pounds. His talents are growing to 6'6" and being able to throw the ball 80 yards. Tyrod is nothing like Jamarcus. He has some unique talents and is actually trying to develope as a QB. He'll never be a bum like that dough boy Jamarcus.

If Bulger leaves, shoot! I say get him. Him and Taylor would be interesting back-ups. Both have potential to be Vick!

being that i am from both Vick's and Tyrod's local area here in Hampton Roads or the 757..and that i am a HUGE Virginia Tech Hokies fan....

Tyrod smashed all previous QB records at VT. therefore, he is the greatest QB (at this moment) to come out of VT. but, we know Vick is a beast as well.

Flacco haves to bring his a game because I think Tyrod has what it takes to be a starter. Our receivers have to step up too... A Boldin dropped a game winner in that championship game Flacco threw a nice ball! Im ready 4 some football!!
