Correct myself it was not yesterday it was a few days ago they found out.. when i first posted about this.. later on in the day. We have a "BANGED" up SECONDARY we are going to get TORCHED!.. isn't Landry hurt? also why would we keep Nakamura, Zyb, Lehonard if Reed wasn't that bad off.... we do NOT need all of those SAFETIES..

Most teams need at least one back-up per position, therefore having both a FS and SS position, at least 4 safeties are necessary on the roster, at least in my opinion... especially with Reed's condition, which must not be as bad as we think considering he was not placed on the PUP list.

Where did you get that from?
Reed has said himself he'll probably get the surgery after he's done playing. But the surgery would end his playing career.

i looked up nerve impingement and it says that these things get better over time and with therapy or cortisone shots. it also says that in the sun article... i wouldn't be too worried about his career but him playing in the first half of the season would surprise me

wasnt NO cheapshots, Ward is the best blocking reciever in the league, and dont give up on the play till its over. He surprised Reed and layed Him out, I'm a Ravens fan no doubt, but I'm a football fan first and formost. That Was a Sick block!

Both Everett and Williams are fortunate to be walking right now, but two miracles in a row like that are hard to come by...
well,Kevin Everett wasnt hit the wrong way...tradgic but still
he put his head into a kick returner running full speed...who does that?

Are you suggesting it's his fault?
And, yeah, he was "hit the wrong way".

Also, learn to spell and use some proper punctuation.

Yeah and it doesn't help he likes to lead with his shoulder, either. You'd think he would know better by now...

Don't risk your health Ed. We luv ya man. You've done plenty for us and have given Ravens fans PLENTY to cheer about. I'll never forget the kicks you've blocked, they had to eventually let them hold you or no kick would have gotten off, the kicks you've returned for touchdowns and interceptions returned for TDs. You should go down in history as one of the most talented football players to ever play in Baltimore. Thank you.

Yea Reed dont put yourself up to it if you know your body cant handle it. There are a couple things I will miss when you know your body cant take it anymore. Those are.......

1. Beautiful INTs for TDs. Especially from our side of the field.
2. Playing on ST and returning stuff for TDs.

and last one which will be very difficult for me

3. Not seeing you in your #20 jersey on the field tearing it up.

He wasn't placed on the PUP list so I am going to assume that he should be alright within a few weeks, otherwise he would have been better served to go on the PUP list for 6 weeks to really heal up and rest.

from baltimoresun

"Reed practices
Ed Reed practiced yesterday for the first time this summer without his red jersey, which had signified no contact with other players. The free safety is suffering from a nerve impingement in his neck and shoulder.

Doctors have told him to rest a couple of weeks, Reed said. But Reed will attempt play in the season opener.

"If I feel like I can go out there and be effective, that's what I am going to do," Reed said. "But at the same time, I'm going to be smart and try to strengthen it as much as possible."

There is a possibility that the injury could cut short Reed's season.

"If it keeps lingering throughout the season, it definitely could come to some point to where we shut it down for the year, rest it and strengthen it over the next offseason," he said. "Right now, it's just focus on the day-to-day and try to get it better."

Baltimore Sun reporter Jamison Hensley contributed to this article."

he should take his time if that will be better for the long term. i hate how NFL players go against doctors orders, they are doctors for a reason.
