Hey does anyone know the NATURE of Ed Reed's INJURY could it be CAREER ENDING?. From what i am HEARING from the SPORTS NEWS CHANNELS it's more SERIOUS then the RAVENS management are letting us KNOW.

That guy from Buffalo will be a HORRIBLE choice to replace REED for the year or whatever.. he MISSED like 3 KEY tackles during YESTERDAYS pre-season game.. i would rather see Zyb play that position.

BTW i just heard on the radio 1570 i believe their SAYING REEDS injury came from LAST YEAR.. and the MANAGEMENT had NO IDEA & JUST found out the NATURE OF HIS INJURY & HOW BAD IT REALLY IS!. Their saying that if he GETS hit the WRONG way he could be paralyzed for the rest of his life.. so he may be HANGING IT UP FOR GOOD.. WILL BE A HORRIBLE YEAR IF REED AND McGAHEE ARE OUT THE SEASON.. MINE as well TUNE OFF.. my 2 fav players besides Ray RAY.. my MIAMI BOIS.. :(

Tune into 1570 and call up and ask i do not know.. maybe last year? maybe messing around somewhere.. who knows i am just going by what the guys are talking about on the station and the one guy (FORGOT HIS NAME) knows his CRAP about Baltimore Sports.

Also about REED i would not let it go through one ear and out the other i would keep it in the back of my mind or your going to have a HELL of a surprise when the time comes and a HUGE LET DOWN.. weather it may be season ending or career. (I am going with my vibes and assuming it will not be career) but who knows.. but i wont be surprised if he misses the season or half of it.. and if its what i am hearing about if he gets hit the wrong way and it could paralyze him i sure as hell wouldn't play another snap in the NFL again.

I don't just leave TOPICS about things I DREAM UP.. i make sure i HEAR them from more then one sports guy who follows all of this like white on rice before i even say a WORD.

Hey, you can calm down just a bit... here is an article where Ed himself speaks about the injury, which is not career-ending... only the surgery to repair it would be career-ending, although I do not know if that is much better

I am CALM.. UPSET yes. But this just in Reed just MET with the MEDIA about his injury and this was said.---> Reed said he has a "nerve impingement" in his neck and down his shoulder. He was then asked about SURGERY by the media and he responded said if he had surgery it WOULD END his CAREER POINT BLANK.

SO BASICALLY it is up to Mr. REED to keep PLAYING.. with that KIND OF INJURY that if he is "HIT" the wrong way it could PARALYZE him for good or RETIRE.. so right now it will be DAY by DAY i assume. If he SITS THE WHOLE SEASON OUT then YEAR by YEAR like with OGDEN..

-CASE CLOSED END OF DISCUSSION. Now i know what the DEAL is, and so does everyone else. Glad i got him to SIGN my Authentic black reed jersey last year.. I wish HIM THE BEST OF LUCK and may he STAY AND PLAY AND BE FREE OF INJURY :). No time will HEAL this injury as it has been since last season.. its just up to him to take the chance with it..

The answers will all come eventually. Most of these people have no idea what they are talking about. They speculate.

Yeah, if we see that Ed was put on the PUP list, then we know it is really bad news regarding this nerve impingement :o

Well Reed himself did come out and say he does have a MAJOR injury.. and surgery will paralyze him.. so i mean knowing if you get hit the wrong way and it will paralyze you would you go out there and chance it and play?.. that is basically where he stands right now.. with that decision. Crappy to be stuck in between that.. position.

The Ravens will prolly see how he plays for the season.

maybe the ravens knew this already and drafted 2 safeties and signed one because of that

:( nooo... :( just what we need more bad news as if there aren't enough injury issues. I hope he can get back on the field but more importantly I want to see him live a healthy and productive life. If he cannot play again then I'm proud he wore a Ravens uniform but I won't jump to conclusions. I will wait like everyone else and see what the results are but it doesn't sound good.

YEAH, It is UNLIKELY that the team would KEEP HIM ON THE 53 MAN ROSTER if he wasn't GOING to play. I am randomly CAPITALIZING WORDS FOR EMPHASIS. I do not NORMALLY DO THIS. I just wanted to TRY it because Reed4Prez makes ME think IT HAS TO BE FUN OR SOMETHING. Why else WOULD he do it all the TIME?

Enough with the caps. I agree with the above, they might not IR him, but they would def PUP him if they weren't confident he would be able to contribute this year. If solid information comes back to us that somehow the injury is a result of either James Harrison's or Hines Ward's hits last year on MNF, then I would gladly go to jail for burning down their houses. My overall interest in the NFL and the Ravens would dip significantly if Ed Reed had to retire early because of whatever is going on in his neck/shoulder.

Dear Eddie Quick Ready Reed,

You are my favorite player. Please do not retire. I know your neck hurts, but the team needs you now more than ever. The fans need you now more than ever. Please, do not retire. Remain productive, and go break some more records, that'll make you feel better. How about you return a couple INTs +100 yards again this year. You know how you love to do things like that. Trust me, a couple Defensive TDs and the pain kind of washes away. So, it's settled then, I'll see you out on the field!

Your Biggest Fan,

Cole

If Ed gets put on PUP, it means the team has expectations that he will be able to play later this year. If he gets assigned to IR, that means he will not be playing this year. He is eligible for PUP because he came to camp injured.

Well, at least he's smarter than Merriman.

Put Zbikowski in there and then let's see the bodies fly around.

Hmm this nerve impingement reminds me of Andre Agassi who had to retire from tennis because of the pain. I don't know if surgery would paralyze him, but messing with the spine is never a good thing. The question pretty much is how much pain can Reed handle? He sure can dish it out though...

I think Ed Reed will be just fine. I think the media took things out of hand, which they always do. SURGERY will be career-ending. there's no need for that. if Reed is smart, which he is, he will wait for the impingement to fully heal by itsself so he can play later in the season. and, as stated before, it's not like we don't have unworthy backups. Nakamura and Zbikowski are both great young future stars. Leonard is okay too.

I think Reed will be smart enough to let the injury heal up and do whatever practicing and training he can. He clearly doesn't want career-ending surgery if he doesn't have to have it and I'm hoping that we'll get at least one more season out of him.

Besides, I want to see him take down the Redskins in December

If anyone gets hit the wrong way, period, they could be paralyzed.

Though I understand that the situation with his nerves is delicate, it's one of those things that some people might be blowing out of proportion.

Only Ed Reed knows how Ed Reed feels; even if he, himself, were to clarify the severity of the injury, there are many injuries where time and rest is all that's needed for a moderate or full recovery.

In other words, I won't worry about this until there's a definitive, final statement on whether he'll be able to play again. Yes, I'm concerned for his health and his future quality of life, but at the end of the day, this is one of those stories that just has to run its course; we'll see how this turns out soon enough.

yeah, no kidding considering the former Bills player awhile back getting paralyzed.

but i personally think Reed is too good to not be on the field for at least another 3-4 years.

Not just the Bills' Kevin Everett, but also the Texans' Harry Williams just a week or so ago.

Both Everett and Williams are fortunate to be walking right now, but two miracles in a row like that are hard to come by...

I just hope he does fine and lives the rest of his life healthy. Playing shouldn't be his main goal right now... it should be getting healthy so he won't have to be paralyzed for the rest of his life.

If it doesn't get any better I can see him taking the surgery.

I can't see him taking the surgery. Unless he CAN'T play at all and I mean at all. Reed would probably give it a try out on the field before trying it

He has had this INJURY since BEFORE the season ended last year.. How long will it take.. i do not think it is going to "HEAL" itself.. SAD TOO SAY.. I would LOVE FOR IT too but i just feel this is the END for Reed.. NOT SAYING I AM CORRECT i will WAIT it out myself.. but there has BEEN WAY TO MUCH QUIETNESS ABOUT HIM.. and they said the MANAGEMENT just found out YESTERDAY HOW BAD HIS INJURY REALLY IS.. and BTW WHY WOULD YOU CUT REED ANYWAYS?! i am sure there willing to keep him on the ROSTER JUST IN CASE.. just because he is on the ROSTER does not mean he ISN'T HURT EXTREMELY BAD!. Hope all is well with HIM as this is an OFF THE FIELD ISSUE as well.. :(
