Purple Turf

84 posts in this topic
Have you ever wondered how M&T Bank Stadium would look with purple turf? Me neither. But someone with decent digital video editing skills has, and they put their know-how to use by making a YouTube video of the Ravens playing the Browns -- it’s footage from their Week 3 meeting in 2009 -- on digitally-altered purple turf. I think they should stick with the green stuff. What about you?
That turf is more hideous than the Boise State turf lol..... I still can't get my eyes adjusted to the Boise turf. It pains my eyes to watch one of their home games haha. We need to stick with the green if we are to be respected by others in the league.

I think black turf with purple numbers and lines trimed in white would look awesome!

 I'm worried about you. :34853_doh:

Makes me want to heave. I should hope the NFL wouldn't allow it.
IIRC its not allowed for a team to paint their turf in any color. Probably because of the competitive advantage.

Never. NFL Football was meant to be played on green grass (or something that resembles grass)

Now you're getting it.

WOW! Yea, I don't think anyone wants that. Ravens fan or otherwise.

the NFL is all about being professional and that turf does not look professional... Very much like Boise State!

You say they should stick with the green stuff. Which type of green stuff?.... :mcnabbtddance:

Lol. Anyway, I don't think it's really that bad, but only because it's creative. The league would never allow it though.

The only people that should do team color turf is the jets.
That is the only team that guaranteed themselves a Superbowl that is long awaited for this green turf team...

Am I the only one in favor of it? I think it would give us a competitive advantage. Apparently, the Boise State turf had glare issues, but they practiced on in and are used to it. Also, I'm pretty sure it'll be so much harder for other teams to watch game tape on TVs with purple crap everywhere. I'm sure purple turf would annoy the hell of opposing teams.

Possibly. No football "purist" could ever accept something like that. A lot of fans still have issues with synthetic turf.

I'm surprised there's so many negative responses for this. I think its kind of awesome. Now I don't think it could work unless it would be a brighter shade of purple, and I think the darker purple would look cooler than lighter purple. But its still a pretty cool idea. But then again if the league doesn't draw the line somewhere, then every team will want a colored field. And no one wants to see a Brown field in Cleveland....

That video was a bit of an eye sore, but I don't know... maybe for one game a year or something (if it was a different shade).
