On NFL network he said when the bengals confused flacco by sending pressure or disguising coverage he was always making the wrong decision. Now I'm a flacco but after hearing this I wonder will he ever get better and if not do we go after a QB next year. thoughts????

Oh yeah I want to say thank you to Dahani for saying this because now I think I'm understand why he struggle so much. Espcially against the bengals

Lol you mean north. (MOD NOTE: Corrected.)

But Dhani has those words against Flacco because the Bengals defense does all of those things. They have a history of confusing him at the line and making things difficult. However, I feel not enough credit is given to Hall and Joseph for essentially eliminating our WRs from the game. Hell, even Pacman jumped the inside route against Q on the first of four picks in Cincy last year. Plus, we all (Ravens fans) remember him throwing deep to Mason and Clayton in 2009 only to have the ball snatched up by those two, as they had complete blanket coverage. Nonetheless, Mike Zimmer also has a pretty effective zone coverage system that has really made life tough specifically for Flacco and this offense.

However, we all know this isn't exactly an accurate description of Joe. Is he worse under pressure? Yes, although he has an excellent rating against the blitz. But he usually doesn't make the traditional bad decisions of throwing picks. If by bad decisions, he means takes too many sacks, then he has a point. But Flacco is by far most prone to turnovers when he plays the Bengals, even more so than say, the Steelers.

I just saw Dhani on NFL network and heard what he said. For starters, I think he meant when Flacco is being pressured in general and not just against the Bengals. Now if anyone could correct me if I'm wrong, please do, but isn't he more inconsistent against pressure than totally incapable (not Dhani's words, he just said he makes mistakes)? I thought that sometimes Flacco is really good against pressure/blitzes and other times he's not so hot. Also, a lot of QBs make mistakes under pressure, which is why creating pressure is so important.

I'm confident that Flacco will be improved this coming season and I don't think there's reason to believe he won't be. He gets better every year. Once again correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe in Flacco's 3 years we are 3-3 against the Bengals. I do see him struggle against them a bit but I don't think he'll come close to as bad as the first game last season, not in the near future. That's just my opinion.

To add, at least he said Flacco was capable, although, I thought he also gave McCoy more love. Maybe because he just didn't say anything negative about him and I misinterpreted it. Okay, I'm done.

its cuz when the Ravens get blitzed, instead of making the other team pay for blitzing by audibling some quick passes over the vacant zones, they decide to add more people to the line, and leave more RB's in to block leaving ony 2 or 3 possible targets for joe. Those 3 or 4 targets are then covered by at least 4 if not 5 or 6 defenders, this routes take longer to develop while joe has less time in the pocket. Also none of our receivers were terribly good at Quick routes besides Mason.

What Dhani said is partly consistent with what we've seen from Joe.

I think he responded better against pressure at times this season(I've read somewhere at least 7 of his TDs came when he was being blitzed and there were random flashes of quick feet), but overall, he still had issues when teams turn up the heat. Interceptions were only really an issue against the Bengals but Joe took too many bad sacks and let pressure affect his mechanics in some key situations. The offense scheme plays into that but I can bring up situations in which he took sacks when people were open.

He'll never be as elusive or as good improvising like Roethlisberger and Rodgers but he can make quicker decisions and not look as lost when chased out of the pocket.

Joe struggles to get rid of the ball under pressure, it's common knowledge. What he needs to figure out is how to change that, then he can make the move from top 15 QB to top 5 or 3.

Joe was brutal that day, but our Oline couldnt pick up a stunt in that game to save their lives it was embarrassing.

Woodley made a comment about this on FB. My reply was, "Dhani WHO??? Although, he probably IS the better banjo player."

First Woodley, then Dhani. Man, the Ravens are going to have a lot of talk to respond to come September. Motivation for Flacco if he knows about this?

Reality Check:

- Flacco has won a Playoff Game in each year he has been in the league

- Palmer on the other hand has NO Playoff wins and Joe has more winning record seasons than Palmer.

- His team was 4-12 last year while Ravens won a playoff game and were in the playoffs.... yeah so what's so great about being a 4-12 team, NOTHING! So Dhani know your role and shut your mouth and accept the reality that Joe Flacco, Anquan Boldin, Todd Heap, Ray Rice, Torrey Smith, Tandon Doss run wild all over your Bengals defense.

At least woodley makes an impact on his team. I think they are both going to seriously regret that comment, especially Woodley because they are used to winning. When the ravens whoop the Bengals it is not like they don't lose enough to be good at it. Whereas the Steeler's are used to winning and if this makes Joe play some inspired football things could get really ugly.
