Preseason 4: Atlanta Falcons At Baltimore Ravens

Understand and agree, but under the circumstances (Boller injured and Smith spending more time throwing up than throwing passes), the choice has somewhat already been made.

I don't want to see happen to Flacco what happened to Boller.

Agreed. You dont want to see what happened to Boller end up with Flacco.

"BUT"

You gotta give it up for Boller for LITERALLY giving up his body for the team.

The whole thing is not to beat down a QBs respect for the position or ego on the field. Starting a rookie will affect both.

If you play badly, you should feel bad whether you're a rookie or a veteran.

but if you keep that mindset of feeling bad how will you ever come back.

"I don't want to see happen to Flacco what happened to Boller."

What I meant by that was making Flacco a starting QB without being properly groomed.

I've got a lot of respect for Boller. He's taken many a hard hit, gotten up, and gone on to continue playing. He's also been put in bad situations, some of which he was pretty much set up for failure, and handled them professionally. He's also taken a lot of blame and heat for things that were his fault.

But, there's no guarantee that the same thing will happen. I don't think Boller lack of success has anything to do with when he started.

If Marcus Smith get puts on IR who becomes our 5th WR

Matt Willis has been the most consistent (as we just saw from that pass from bramlet) after Mason in the preseason. Despite being the same type of receiver as Mase and Clayton, I would probably give him the 5th spot.

If he catches 1 more deep ball then Im sold to him taking the 5th spot.

Who is in the game worth looking at? Absolutely no one that is going to make an impact regular season, except Barnes and Stover oh yeah the safetys I like

Yeah! another FIELD GOAL. Come on guys, convert those 3rd downs. Props to Stover for drilling that 48 yarder though.

Thought Stover is doing his usual on-the-mark field goals, I was hoping to see at lease one offensive touchdown tonight.....

From what I have heard Jameel McClune has had a good game. You guys think he will make the final cut as a undrafted FA?

Yeah. I don't think that's the thinking behind not playing Flacco. I think that they just don't want to get him injured.

I see a lot of fair catches by Tom Z. Are the Falcons players getting down there that fast to where he has to wave his hand for it?

For the most part. He really hasn't had much time to return them.

cool thanks. It shows a lot of his Punt stuff as fair catches at NFL.com

I can't wait to watch the replay to see how Flacco looked. Last game I listened to the game while watching the stats screen and I wasn't impressed until I actually watched the replay. He appeared to be so poised and confident in his throws and by the looks of it and from what I have heard he has only improved from last weeks outing. I am definetly excited for the future!!!
