Preseason 4: Atlanta Falcons At Baltimore Ravens

179 posts in this topic

I have somewhat of a bad feeling for the coming season. They seem to get it down the field and when theyre so close. Our score becomes yet another FG. Beautiful isnt it?

Well let's be optimitic. Most of our guys are not out there. Some of these guys might not be on the team tommorrow.

Now I wonder who Cam and the crew is planning to start Sept 7th at QB. Harbaugh is BSing and never tries to give out his plans. I guess he doesn't want to give the enemy ammunition. I think that Geico commerical is funny tho, lol

The most sporadic post I ever saw.

Hey all I need to know about our wideouts is Flacco to Williams for 22 yds. Not 4 or 5 yards but 22. Hopefully D Will can stay healthy an entire season and can be Joe's go to guy.

And like I said, who would have thought another def. pass interference call on one of our backup corners would set up ANOTHER touchdown for the other team. Really, I hope Rex is saving most of his plays for the regular season, no excuse for the backups to be doing so badly...they have looked horrid all preseason....

Does anyone agree with pulling Flacco so early? The only way I can figure they could justify it is if they've decided that Flacco will be the starter, which i think he has earned the right to be. He's the only QB with a TD, and the only one out of three...er...four without an interception. He' played increasingly well overall. I don't know what to make of it all.

I would, yes. Joe Flacco has performed the best in the preseason, even with his horrific debut. Boller looks like he won't be ready for the opener, and Smith hasn't done anything to earn it.

I would have left Flacco in for at least one more full drive or until halftime, depending on the results of the plays. At this point, I'd start Flacco on Week 1 as he's had the most playing time this year and has shown steady improvement in the preseason.

But we do want to be careful on(examples) Choppin the chickens head, throwing him to the wolves and on and on.

I think Ravens want to tame him the Carson Palmer way not the Peyton Manning way. I think Joe would do better the Peyton Manning way because he has shown more learning on the field than on the sideline. I'm indifferent between Smith and Flacco. Where Flacco wins with arm, Smith makes up with experience and legs.

But that can only be the case if he's the starter. That's why you always put in second string guys (or worse) in those situations. A guy still competing for the job would still be in right now.

I don't believe even Harbaugh knows who is starting at this point. It would be a toss up between Smith and Flacco. I think Smith would win more games but Flacco could be the future. I think Troy Smith would be best. Like the Browns Derek Anderson beat the first rounder and turned out good.

Understand and agree, but under the circumstances (Boller injured and Smith spending more time throwing up than throwing passes), the choice has somewhat already been made.

I don't want to see happen to Flacco what happened to Boller.
