Regardless, I'm not so worried about the rest of this game. If Flacco's done for the night, I think he's done well enough to at least position himself to be somewhat of a respectable choice for the Week 1 starter.

Honestly, I can't see Troy Smith simply being handed the job after recovering from his illness.

Smith may have caught a tough break, but if Flacco has shown the coaches enough improvement over Smith, there's really no explanation to start Smith over Flacco. Experience shouldn't have anything to do with it; production should.

I don't understand why Joe didn't play at least the 1st half. It's pretty obvious he MAY claim the starting job due to Troy's illness. I would think that a potential starting rookie with a "learning curve" would be allowed to play more than 6 total quarters in the preseason, he needs all the reps he can get.

Oh well, at least Joe looked better than Matt Ryan tonight.
