I think Jimmy Smith will come in and be a B+ corner back, (Grade A CB's Revis,Ndami,Woodson) eventually with expierence become an A+ CB.

Torrey Smith will give the Ravens a chance to do so much if Cam plays him right.

Mount Cody- I think will be a great run stopper, and opposing OL's will have ALOT of trouble blocking him and Ngata. He could be another Tony Sarigusa for us. In the meantime he'll be rotating around with Gregg.

King Serg, If he plays we have no idea what to expect. We can only hope he is what we drafted him, he possibly could fix our passrush. I personally think he'll play and have a 5+ sack year. Just a good lucky feeling I have.

Jah Reid- Hopefully we resign Gaither. But if we dont Reid will most likely be our starter, I dont think he will have a michael oher rookie year. Hopefully eventually he could start, because hes one of them "Play Like a Raven" kinda guys.

Art Jones- UFC training with his UFC heavyweight champion brother this offseason shows a great sign. He has the size and power and has potential to be great. Only problem for him in Ngata and Cody. I hope we can make him a DE, I thin he would exceed.

Ok, Funny thought: What if Terrence Cody lost so much weight he became a LB. LOL, imagine if he was fast how much of a beast he would be.

Comment your 2010-2011 rookie/sophmores breakouts.

I think a lot of these guys will have impactful seasons next year, but I expect Jimmy Smith to be a starter from day 1. He should have the most impact of anyone. Cody and Jones should see more playing time along the D-line, and yes Art Jones should play at the 5-technique backing up Cory Redding. I am very optimistic about Kindle as well, I think he could have a breakout season if he is healthy.

I think Cody will see the most PT, barring injury and weight issues, so I think he will make the biggest impact.

And for Willis: I'll miss him, he was a good player for us, but I'd understand the reasons the Ravens have in releasing/trading him.

Torry Smith is goin to be a beast of a reciever bc with his speed and Flacco arm its goin to be unstoppable.
I will miss Willis a little but we got capable players that can come in contribute and we would be better off without him and his contract

I'll miss Willis, but like berad said, the reasons for his probable departure are obvious. I'm quite surprised that he was given such a big deal at his age.

I think Jimmy Smith will have the biggest impact if he can make his way into the starting lineup before too long. I was slightly torn between him and Kindle though, as I think he could really make an impact on the pass rush.

I am going to say torrey smith has the biggest impact, if kindle does not return (I believe he will) but I am going with the current situation. The reason being is if kindle comes backle and can add a pass rush then jimmy smith's impact goes up infinetly. If he does not then he is going to have to learn about a complicated defense with no OTA's and maybe not even a training camp. Torrey on the other hand we just need his speed a pass catching if he isnt the most polished route runner he still has speed. (not saying route running is not important that would make him that much better if he did.) he is going to slow down the blitzes, put less men in the box, open up the run with his vertical threat, give joe a deep threat, and he is going to let boldin and mason do what they do best. I think Jimmy will be a very integral part of our team though. I just think all the things we get out of torrey for one player is going to be tremendous.

I have previously stated I think he will play, but not sure about his effectiveness I would love for him to come in and be another suggs but I seriously doubt it. I just think he has spent too much time away and then he is barely ahead of Jimmy because it is not like he has seen game speed either, all he knows is the playbook.

And letting willis go all depends on how well Anthony Allen can do what McGahee brings to the table. I would love to see him back because he is a proven entity but, with all the signings I am hoping against hope he can come back, I just don't see it though. If there was a front office that could do it though it is ours. he just needs to lose his crack pot agent. I am not sure what kind of a deal he thinks he will be able to get Willis, but his age is going to be huge against him, his best bet is to stay here and get a ring.

Regarding the young players, I'm happy there are so many in position to make an impact next season. We haven't seen many rookies or sophomores make an impact the past two seasons. That should change next season.

I'll definitely miss Willis if he's let go. He's had so many memorable moments as a Raven.

I think we'll see a few of these young guys have a big impact, however your definition of breakout will determine just how well you think they played.

I could see Ed Dickson doubling his catches and yard total from last season. 22 catches 300+ yards and 3-4 TDs, could be considered a breakout for him in my eyes.

I could see James Hardy getting a lot of redzone opportunities. His numbers could be in that 13 catch 300 yard range, but because of his size I could see him producing 6-9 TDs and that wouldn't be considered a breakout season, by normal standards but considering the fact he's viewed as a bust right now, I'd call it breaking out.

I really can't see any of our offensive rookies having enough of an impact to consider them breaking out. Rookies just don't produce early and the lockout hurts them even more. I can see both Smith and Doss making plays for the offense, but not enough to make anyone think ROY, or anything like that.

Because the Ravens will look to see Torrey Smith help the offense, I can see him with a 20 catch, 400 yard 3-4 TD season. That would be a really good rookie season, but I don't think it'd be considered breakout.

On defense I think Jimmy Smith will amass so big numbers as a rookie because least then elite QBs, with average passing attacks will attempt to test him early in the season. Games vs Ten, Stl, NYJ, Jax and Ari, will be ones where Jimmy Smith can build that confidence and maybe start to turn into that lock down CB during the second half of the season. I think he'll finish the season with 4-5 INTs.

I think Cody is poised for a huge year. Looking at the schedule, the Ravens will be playing a lot of teams that will look to use the running game to take pressure off a not so good passing game. Unlike last season, I think Ngata, Cody, and McKinney will be huge in the run defense. I can honestly see the Ravens giving up less then 60.0 yards per game rushing.

All in all I just think the Ravens and all of our fans will be in for a treat with these young guys. All the guys mentioned above are either first or 2nd year guys. However we still have guys like Kruger, Ruki, Zibby, Webb, Ellerbe, and McClain who can very well have breakout seasons as well. So 2011 should be fun.

Went with Jah Reid because I think we may just have to throw him in there from week 1 (whenever that is)..if he does not have because Gaither is back then I would say Cody..Both these picks are really based off of expected playing time.

Im hoping Kindle plays...just an optimistic pick

I will miss Mcgahee, but I think we will be fine w/o him

What about Brandon Mckinney? I would like to see him on the breakout list.

McKinney isn't exactly young with him turning 28 in August.

Just watched a replay of the Southern Miss vs Central Florida game last season. Jah Reid is a really big dude, and he plays like it. He really gets after it in the running game. Pass blocking was ok, but will definitely need to improve at the NFL level.

I'm not sure about this year, but I think Ried and Yanda would be a tough, physical, nasty duo on our right side of the line, if need be.

I still think we need Gaither back, if nothing more then just this season. However if that one game is any indication, Jah Ried will be solid if not very good at RT for the Ravens if/when needed.

Yea he's not young, but he can definitely breakout in terms of production. Going into only his 6 season in the NFL, this is usually that make or break point for a player that has bounced around from couple different teams.

Yep. Sadly, McKinney's presence may block Arthur Jones from getting serious playing time. But with how he played in the last third of the season and the decline of Gregg, he deserves more snaps.

He and Cody should have a great position battle once camp starts.

Is Kindle eligible for Rookie of the Year? Hockey and baseball rules are totally different than NFL and Im not sure. My guess would be no but curious, so I thought I would ask.

I'm really high on Cody right now it seems that he hasn't been taking the off season lightly, and been working hard to stay in great shape as evidenced by his appearance at Grubb's charity event. Gregg will be 35 in November and isn't the player he once was. I think Cody wins the starting position and proves he can play at a dominant level in the Pros.

I believe he would still be eligible, based on the fact he never accrued any experience. He didn't even go through training camp, he wasn't even on the roster.
