It might have been the worst game of his career thus far.
Yeah it probably was. The thing with Oher is that he seems to be the guy who gets a bit rattled by making early mistakes. If he makes one early, he's quite prone to playing badly for the rest of the game.

That's why at some points last year it felt like he was poor and others you barely saw him struggle.

Unfortunately the woody is backed up by facts the Steelers have beat us in the post season 3 times, Indy beat us twice. We have never beat either in the post season. It seems that both of these teams have always had our number. Which really p i s s e s me off of because I personally despises both of those teams. I really hope that our Ravens will personally be offended by woodly running his mouth. I hope they do not tweet or talk back but on Sept 11, 2011 go out on the field and provide a response. It is my sincere desire that the response is a good punch in the mouth, it seems the only appropriate response.

I just cannot wait for Sept 11, 2011! The lockout will be over and out by then and we will have a full season.
When the Squealers come into Baltimore, I cannot wait for LeRon McClain to lay some real hard wood on Woodley!

You should think that. Doesn't make it true though.

I was asked my opinion. Apparently you believe otherwise. What else is new? lol

If the Ravens had taken care of business against the in the past three years, Woodley wouldn't be able to make these comments. My, yours or anyone's reactions to them are ultimately meaningless. The only rebuttal that matters is what the Ravens do when they play Steelers.
We can dislike the steelers and their players all we want, I would rather just beat them on the field. No matter how they win or what is said, they have owned the Raven's but we can make a change starting 9/11/11!

Yeah, until we beat them when it counts, they have bragging rights. Let them talk all the trash they want.

He wasn't bragging. He was asked a question. What's he supposed to say? "Yea, only a matter of time until Flacco tears us apart."???

I think the Ravens talk more trash than the Steelers players do.

Oh yeah, what would you call it then? Saying a guy won't win a Super Bowl in this lifetime sounds like bragging and talking trash to me... of course he's going to say what he did, but it was certainly a tad extreme.

He was saying he'll never get past "us or our defense." I've heard worse.

Even the Steelers aren't the team to beat every single season, and clearly the Ravens can get the wild card if the Steelers (or Bengals somehow) win the division. And then, things have to go a certain way for the Steelers to play the Ravens in the playoffs. Steelers did win a SB in 2005 as a wild card, and the Packers just did it. Basically, that's my only issue with the comments. It was kind of a loaded question, since they asked specifically about Flacco and not the Ravens in general. It makes it sound more personal than it really is.

basically he's saying the Steelers will be there in the AFCCG regardless of who the oppnent is. If it happens to be us, PIT wont let us win.

Who care's; it wouldn't be much of a rivalry if we diidn't take shots at each other.

I wasn't being sarcastic, really did want to know your opinion. I still disagree that a young third year or first year Ben would have been able to beat the Steelers' D and 7th year Ben at home in the playoffs. Lucky for you, you never have to see Ben trying to deal with that vicious pass rush, although he could probably handle it better than Flacco does since he's so mobile and hard to bring down.

I will give you this; I don't think Ben would have been stripped by Polamalu the way Flacco was in that Dec. 5 game. IMO, some of that comes down to inadequate coaching and preparation. Flacco was not provided the tools that he needs to take on the #1 defense, being as flexible as it is. I know a lot of Steelers fans who actually respect Flacco and think he's pretty good, probably because they know how tough it's been on him. We'll see how good he can get; he hasn't stopped improving yet, steady improvement for five straight seasons including college.

Ben did some amazing things his rookie year. I just think he was burnt out by the time the playoffs rolled around. I doubt we'll ever see a rookie QB take his team to the SB; much less win it.

I'm one of them and I agree. I also think he's ready to be a leader as he's shown clear signs of taking control of the entire offensive team.

I think Hines Ward summed it up perfectly. Those were comments coming from a young Woodley. As a vet Ward refused to give any bulletin board material.

I can remember back to the days of Joey Porter, a young Ray Lewis, Shannon Sharpe, and some of the other trash talkers in this rivalry.

What Woodley said was minimal, but the media will blow everything up, especially when a guy like Jamie Dukes can get someone to feel the same way about Flacco as he does.

Bottomline is these 2 teams will meet the first game of the season and week 9, and because we are two really good teams, we'll probably meet again in the Playoffs. If the Ravens want to shut Woodley and all the talking heads up, they'll have to do it with their play and use the scoreboard to support them. Other then that, talkers are gonna talk and players are gonna play.

Ryan Clark on Flacco:
The times that we play them, I’m excited to play them. It’s a physical game and we’re going to go out there and play. Do I think Joe Flacco has a very tough time against the Pittsburgh Steelers? Yes. Do I think he has a really, really hard time against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger? Yes. But that’s not because I’m cocky. That’s not because I’m guessing. The stats show it.”

“Is that to say he can’t win as long as we’re playing? No, I’m not saying that because there are 21 other guys that have to start a football game other than Joe Flacco,” Clark said. “But I think it has been hard for those guys to put up points against us. It has been hard for him to have the exceptional, special games that he does against other teams. I think he’s a good quarterback. People have [been talking about Flacco’s progression]. I’m not sure he has progressed in the way people think he has. He’s been good since he came into the league, though. I think he’s still trying to take that next step to become an elite quarterback.”
You know you're trash when a cheapshot head hunter like Clark shows more class.

I hate to play devil's advocate, but Clark is usually pretty classy when he speaks. At least in my experience which, admittedly, is limited.

That isn't what I said at all...

While Joe has been the victim of some horrible drops over the past few seasons(which people disregard when they talk his "record" against Pittsburgh), he's also made more mistakes than Ben.

The pass rush certainly hasn't been good in recent years but saying the good hasn't been "good since '08" is taking it too far. The D limited the Colts and Pats(twice) in '09 and you could argue they did it again to NE this past season. It was the offense that failed in those losses. Even against the Texans last season; had the offense actually been able to hold onto the ball for an extended period or two in the second half, I doubt the D would have been gashed the way were.

I'm not denying the D has dropped the ball at times during the Flacco era but there have been just as many, if not more situations where the offense failed.
Fair enough. I just think while our defense is at the top of the pack, the gap between us and the middle of the pack isn't very big. Our defense isn't bad, but I don't think we scare anyone minus young quarterbacks anymore. But you are right that the offense did put the defense on the field a lot during games such as at the Texans. Our defense isn't a luxury though. It's a benefit for sure. And you can't say Flacco relies on his defense more than Big Ben does. I hate NFL Network. Everyday I hear "Flacco has been to the playoffs each of his first three years, but the Ravens are a defensive team and he gets by mostly on that." If that's true, Ben is on the same boat. End of the day, Ben and Flacco win games for their team, and both teams would be good but not consistent playoff contenders without them. Our defense isn't so good that Dilfer would win with them. Flacco works just as hard to win games as any other quarterback and contributes just as much to each victory. And he will win a Superbowl.

I am actually a Falcon's fan first and a Raven second, but my hope was actually to get Flacco over Ryan for severla reasons. Arm strength, accuracy, power, escape abilities, foot speed, and he's a field general by nature.

I can't stand the overall arrogance Lamarr is showing right now. Flacco may be a future HoFer. I see no reason why not.
