I know nothing is completely final until he (Nnamdi) actually signs somewhere, but I sure as hell hope he doesn't sign with the Steelers. Their defense is already tough enough without a corner of his caliber. With him they'd become virtually unstoppable.

Not surprised, I never considered them to even be seriously entertaining Asomugha more than "Hey, wouldn't it be awesome if...".

Aso would have made their defense pretty much deadly and almost impossible to run or throw against. Thank god hes not going there.

One thing I respect about the Steelers is that they rarely and i mean rarely snag big name free agents. They grow their players. Its no surprise that 2 teams of home grown players played for the Lombardi last season. STEELERS SUCK!

I had to say that because it sounded like I was showing love to our AFCN counterparts lol

Vaguely disappointed, but not surprised.

Marginally still on topic, do you think this gives any more indication about whether you'll re sign Taylor?

I think we'll keep Ike. I would have doubted it if we signed Aso. I'd still like to see us sign Ike AND add a capable FA. I've also heard that reported as what is likely to happen. Aso was kind of overkill for us.

For us too, especially since we drafted Smith.

Which FA is the most attractive/realistic to you?

Absolutely no idea. The one I liked the most for us, probably won't leave Atlanta (Grimes).

Nnamdi said that he wants to win the SB so I expect him to sign with a "very good" team (even if its for a little less than expected... his former team "already" fattened his pockets) based of the last 2 or 3 yrs. I just hope he does not land with one of our better competitors...

That reminds me of the things that were said after the Ravens signed Boldin and Stallworth...

Really no surprise here. They're probably fully focused on re-signing Woodley, and maybe Ike.

Big difference, LeBeau knows how to utilize players to their capabilities.

I would imagine they are definitely going to re-sign Ike if they aren't going to go after Asomugha.

Yes but then Stallworth got hurt and Gaither did too.

The Steelers would be smart not to sign Aso. He's just too much money. Remember they already have an aging defense. They probably want to lay a foundation of young talent - not find a way to get older.
