Boller... The Finale

11 posts in this topic

I just read on baltimoresun.com that Boller may miss the entire season.

While I'm still not a big fan of Boller I have definatly gained some respect for him after reading hundreds of other peoples opinions

about him and QB battle in general. I, likemany other ravens fans have been extremly frustrated by Bollers play at times (most

times). To me Boller is still the same olde Boller and i doubt he will get much better than he is now... even with a better O line and

WR's. You still need to be able to make reads, understand the defense, and hit open recievers (especially in the flats).

He has however showed maturity in the Qb battle situation, unlike how many other "professionals" in this situation. Not once since he

has been on the team have i heard him complain about anything ( i may be wrong,i live in FL).

With that said... the reason i wrote this was to get one final discussion on why someone thinks Boller should start over smith (who i

think should start) or Flacco (who i think should start when the O-line proves themselves... whenever that may be,hopefully towards

towards the end of the season).

I look at it this way... I want the Ravens to play well and win games, but we know boller will not take us to the playoffs and Troy

most likely will not either. However, our O-line is young, almost all second year players. While they are maturing it would benefit us

if we had a mobile QB. Especially since Boller has no pocket presence. I'd like to think they would win more, but at way best they

are 7-9 and worst 3-13 no matter which QB is playing Boller or Smith. I just dont see how someone could put Boller (proven to be

unproven) over Smith (proven to be..who knows...)

Let me know what you think

GOOOO RAVENS!!!!!!

i think boller deserves more credit then he is given... he never complains and does a decent job given his circumstances

I aggree, and I think He's not getting a fair shot under a New and way better system because of the past, not only that because I think harbaugh thinks He has to make a change at QB so He's not Boo'ed.

Perhaps Boller shouldn't start. Perhaps he'll never turn out to be the elite QB we all hoped he would be 6 years ago. But even still, alot can be said for Kyle Boller. I'm glad people realize that he has never complained publicly, never pouted about playing time, or the 1 year 'prove it' extension he got. He signed a 1 year deal in Baltimore because he wanted to show the fans and his team mates that he could win. He could've go to MIA and compete for a starting job, he could've gone to CHI, BUF, or other teams, and he didn't. He took a 1 year deal to play in a city where people boo him when he comes in and cheer when he gets hurt just to prove to us that he can play. The boy has got heart. He gets an awful wrap. Half the times he's come in games in the last 2 years was under the most ridiculous circumstances, i.e. when we we're losing, and McNair had decided to pull himself only after fumbling the ball away twice and throwing a pick. Insert Kyle Boller (to a minority, but still audible chorus of boos); down by 17+, patchwork OL, 1 decent vet receiver, Blitz' galore, and then the same 455h0les boo him when he hurts his ankle. In all honesty, he may be the most mentally tough player on our roster. Unfortunately, that won't win him a starting job.

Best of luck to whoever gets it. We as fans should feel obligated to treat whoever it is alot better than we have treated Kyle Boller.

I have to admit, Boller has heart and gives everything but heart alone doesnt win games, look at our last 5 years. Remember this is a professional business and people are tired of excuses (hence the Flacco pick).

The end.

I think we can all agree that Boller is a guy we love to hate. I'd hate to see him line up against us, just becuase I know what he can do. Put him on IR and keep him around until next season.

Yeah I know what he can do too i've seen it. I would love to have him line up against us cuz we will pick him off ALL DAY.

Hey Kyle the Man/team mate is incredible outstanding person I really believe that BUT

Kyle the football player get BOOD and tossed out the window.

Some of you guys tend to feel that all the Kyle Haters or Haters of Kyle the Human Being and thats not the case atleast not for me. Try not to mix those two circumstances together when you hear someone Dissing dude as I do admittingly often. But much respect for the guy

Hey dude thats not cool man. As much as I dont like seeing Boller on the field he always tries to do what he has to. I know the dude is always scared of being hit but he puts his body on the line for us. He never complains and says stuff about the OL even though we know he has a right due to all the hits he's taken. Leave the dude alone. He got eaten alive thanks to Billick and just throwing him in there. He even threw a block for McGahee. How many QBs have you seen do that for their RB? I say atleast keep him for 1 more season.

Im gonna get a lot of people probably saying Im a Boller lover. Atleast let him stay with the team for all hes done. The dudes body is all banged up and hes hurtin. It kinda sucks for him to put himself on the line only for people to hate him. Im not a Boller lover.....

Im a RAVEN FANATIC. Fans should never hate players unless they have an attitude like Ryan Leaf.
