Scheme Thoughts?

Does anyone feel that some if not more than some of the blame for the ravens lack of offense comes from their scheme and not their lack of .... QB or WR...

The best teams in league/ best offensive teams in the league run these two plays at least 2-5 times a game and almost always results in either a first down, good yardage or a BIG play..

The quick slant I.E manning to harrison or favre to driver or jennings or brady to moss

The screen steelers, packers, pats

i can not completly back up my comments because i am unable to see preseaon games.... i think cam cam will change that and atleast get our offense on the right path opposed to completly derailed like it has been in the past....

We have a whole new scheme this year but Preseason is always pretty vanilla. You can't gauge anything by that.

from watching how dynamic san diego's offense was the last couple years i have no doubt that cam's scheme works. the question is do we have the personnel for it? i dont think so. our running game is solid. o line could be solid, its the QB and WR's that im worried about

I completely agree that our scheme is a big part of the reason we've had a poor offense for so long. The fact that we've never had a great QB doesn't exactly help, but the scheme was definitely a problem. But, that's why so many people are excited about Cam Cameron as the new offensive coordinator. We should see a much better offense on paper, and it will be up to the players to take advantage of it.

our recievers cant be put to blame untill we have a solid QB.. i think we have some decent receivers that can become great if given the chance and haveing a stable QB. Which i think we finally have in flacco if hes given the chance to start and grow. Boller still not showing promisise, Troy is still injured but flacco showed some improvements.

I'm sure Cam could make a scheme that would adjust to our receivers and there tendencies

We've run a lot more screens in this preseason and that suits our OL and backs very well. I'm looking forward to seeing the regular season O.

I think Cam is the perfect co-coordinator for us. think of the scheme and personnel SD used. no spectacular recievers, just possession guys. started out with a young o-line, young quarterback (after brees). But they had Lt and gates. i wouldnt say our personnel is as talented as some of their guys, but that doesnt mean our system can't be effective. thats why i also think troy smith is the guy. this isnt going to be a wide open-bomb the ball offense, it will be a quick hit offense, and for that, playmakers are the best. anyways, in terms of scheme, i think we have the proper personnel to be effective.
