Any Opinions On My Fantasy Draft?

17 posts in this topic

Just completed my draft, I'm pretty excited with my picks...

QB Matt Schaub

RB Steven Jackson

RB Marion Barber

WR Andre Johnson

WR Roddy White

WR Calvin Johnson

TE Todd Heap

D/ST Jaguars

K Robbie Gould

BENCH

QB Jake Delhomme

RB Willis McGahee

RB Matt Forte

RB Ray Rice

WR Chris Chambers

WR James Hardy

TE Owen Daniels

I'm really banking on Houston to do well this year in some situations, so when we play them in week 2, I will have to kinda pull for Schaub and Johnson haha.

I got McGahee in the 4th round, couldn't believe he slipped that far, so of course had to get his handcuff too B)

well the main reason I got Schaub was because I had Andre Johnson. I just got Delhomme later in the draft and thusly he was put on my bench.

Your lineup looks good. McGahee is an excellent backup. Is there anyway you could get him in as a flex player? I think that he'll be way better than White.

Here's my lineup (I'm also betting heavy on Houston):

QB J. Cutler
RB L. Tomlinson
RB R. Bush
WR A. Johnson
WR A. Boldin
WR B. Marshall
TE O. Daniels
D/ST Patriots
K J. Scobee

BENCH
QB D. Garrard
RB R. Mendenhall
RB J. Stewart
RB A. Bradshaw
WR R. Brown
TE T. Scheffler

It's a 12 team PPR leage. That's why I took Bush as my RB2.

Unfortunately, our league is set up to start 3 wideuts and 2 running backs, no flex option. But in any case, I have 3 quality starters in McGahee, Barber, and Jackson I can rotate in and out at running back, due to favorable matchups or injuries. And Matt Forte gives me a decent 4th option to start.

Cutler and Garrard are both gonna have great seasons I think. Jonathan Stewart gives you a good option as a starting back off the bench. 3 great wideouts too, solid team there Bal Hawk

Here is my set up its pretty much a super sleeper team with a few huge stars

QB T. Romo
RB B. Jacobs
RB C. Johnson
RB/WR J. Norwood
WR P. Burress
WR J. Cotchery
TE J. Shockey
D/ST Bills
K R. Gould

BENCH
QB C. Palmer
RB D. Mcfadden
WR E. Royal
WR P. Crayton
TE A. Fasano
K D. Akers
D/ST Vikings

* I'm thinking of trading Crayton for Matt Forte and the reason I have Norwood is because he is now handling KOR as well and thats a quick 6 plus rushing yards. This team averages between 115-130 pts per week so I'm actually very happy with the way it turned out even though my RB's look kind of weak...

Thoughts???

Sucks that you'd have to trade for him, he was sitting in waivers in my league half way through the Colts-bears game and I claimed him, albeit 8th out of 12 in the waiver order, but it still went through, woot!

Yeah I picked up Chris Johnson and was debating whether or not to pick up Forte in a later round but he was drafted before I had the chance so at that point I went with Utecht and already dropped him after Week 1 to grab Anthony Fasano of the Dolphins. Miami doesn't have a great receiving corps so he could be the go to guy for Pennington, at least thats what I'm hoping. I can't bench Shockey now though, not with Colston's injury. I did grab Royal off waivers though : )

Out of

Burress
Cotchery
Crayton
Royal

Which 3 would you play? Which 2 would you play?

Yeah, I've got Colston, and Steve Smith, so I had to pick up Desean Jackson for this week at least.

This is laughable, but I also have Brandon Marshall, so in week 1 I had to start Colston, Lee Evans, and Devin Hester. Pretty disappointing day out of the WRs, but I got a big day from C.Johnson, as you probably know and a big day from Marion the Barbarian, and won easily, 89-39 (my opponent started Brady, too bad :P )

Um, I'm no FF guru, but I'd go with Burress and Cotchery. Favre seemed to look for Cotchery alot last week.

Yeah I think the game plan is 2 RB go Jacobs and Johnson with 3 WR because Burress and Cotchery are every week starters and Royal returns kick off and will steal some of Marshall's receptions, and of course Crayton with Romo basically doubles up points and the Eagles may focus on TO and Witten which allows Crayton to rack up some points. Its a good problem to have but still a problem.

I drafted Forte in the 10th round and he ended up sitting on my bench week 1 because I thought he would have a hard time running against the Colts and because I already had Steven jackson and Marion Barber starting. Boy was that a mistake, Forte had 26 pts on my bench and Jackson had 10...so it goes, part of the fun of fantasy football.

Jackpot traded Brandon Jacobs and Jericho Cotchery for AP so now its AP, McFadden, Chris Johnson, and Darren Sproles (here is to hoping he steps in for an injured LT) with a receiver corps of Burress, Royal, and Chambers I'm feeling good now!
