63 posts in this topic

I'm a little surprised that he's number one myself, but these numbers actually don't lie.

Wile I am happy for you and your team and respect your right to be proud of your team. I my self dont particularly care.

yes I know, if I didnt care why did I click on the thread?

I dont know the answer to that question. I wish I did.

I also wish I could just stop typing and leave this thread alone.

God I am bored...

Wow, Mason is second. That's really sweet, I never knew that.

Mason, IMO, has always been underrated. Hines probably is too, but not as much as Mase since Hines does get SOME love now and again.

I agree. They're both warriors, it's just too bad that one is the enemy ;)

I should give Hines more credit for what he's done and respect him more, but that smug smirk of his just just annoys the hell outta me.

I know. And I understand. Used to feel the same about Ray Ray and a few others. Tom Brady still annoys me in a variety of ways and I think he's the only one left.

This is slightly off topic, but so win that it cannot be moved.

Yes all of that, but mostly because he carries on like a screaming teenaged chick during pre-game and has the audacity to inspect the ball after he's thrown a INT.

I love how I turned your topic about Hines Ward having the most catches in the past decade into a Brady bashing thread.

He's been a highly productive player and I wish it had been for another team.

Yep. Ward and Mason. Two good ol' reliables... I still say that Ben should have targeted Hines on that final drive in the SB instead of Wallace who had double and triple coverage... but let me quit playin "Captain Hinesight" ...lol.

Sanders getting hurt (and Randle El lining up on the wrong side) screwed things up a bit. Win some, lose some.

One less pick in 1995 and one less fumble in 2010 and who knows.

I'm not surprised by that. I would take Mason over Ward any day though, not really concerned about 13+ more receptions, Mason has constantly put the team on his back and there are no negative marks against his character to my knowledge.

Ward does more than just catch passes and you'd be singing a different tune if the Ravens had drafted him instead, so let's not kid ourselves here.

Seriously doubt it, he's a coward in my eyes and a little too whiny for my liking. But to each their own.

Since 2003, Anquan Boldin has 26 more receptions, 543 more yds, 4 fewer TDs and 2 Fewer First downs than Hines Ward.

I rather have Q. Q doesn't have a history of being a dirty player and taking cheap shots on players.

 Whatever. By all accounts he's a stand up guy. He gets voted as a dirty player because your whiny heros (and other like them) like to dish it out the same way, but can't take it. As I said, shoe on the other foot? = Different tune. Deny it if you want, but I think you're full of "poopy."

Listen, I'm a huge Caps fan but I can't stand Alexander Semin because he dives too much. I don't like players who cheat the game or play dirty. That's just my opinion. You can keep him.

No one on our team has whined about Hines Wards cheap shots. They just think it's a double standard that an offensive player can hit an unexpecting defender but the reverse would be considered a penalty/fine.

This is a fairly new (and debatable) rule we're all adjusting to. I think more folks think it sucks than anything. The old timers (former players) are going nuts over this. It's not football anymore. It's finesse, high scoring crap. But that's another discussion.

I take exception to you labeling a hit where the guy wasn't looking as dirty. Head on a swivel is a common term used to describe what you have to do (or had to do when we had REAL FB) against hard hitting defenders. If it's good for the goose, it's good for the gander. It's not Hines' responsibility to make sure the defender sees him coming. It's Hines' responsibility to block for the runner.

This new generation of FB and it's fans is pathetic.

The game has changed but I am still deciding if it's for the best or not. Athletes these days are freaks. They have a mixture of strength and speed that wasn't really known 20 years ago.

Leading with Helmet should be penalized by suspension but if you shoulder an unexpecting person, I really don't see much of a problem with that.

Leading with the helmet is so much less the issue and so often misconstrued than the other "safety penalties."

Seems that more times than not that accusation is thrown out there and the accuser is clueless as to what he/she is looking at. Lower your should and tell me what your head does.

Time-after-time-after time, I hear "oh he led with his helmet!" No he didn't. He lowered his damn shoulder and so did the offensive player. Next thing ya know, "so-and-so" is a dirty player. It's pathetic, as I said. Flippin "Pepsi Generation Football" right there.

Don't be hyper-sensitive on the topic of Hines Ward, we're going to start seeing him everywhere we look due to him winning "Dancing with the Stars".
