Im picking up my Vibram Bikila LS tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone has tried these shoes, or has an opinion of them. I am using them for distance running and trail running. Here are the ones I am getting

They allow free motion of your feet to allow your body to run "correctly" biomechanically. Basically if you have ever run in shoes (and you have..lol), the foot strike you experience is on the mid foot, almost flat footed if you will. In these, your going to run as if you were not wearing shoes which is the way your body was meant to run with a forefoot strike.

Little bit of info if youre interested:

They are so cool looking--I am a barefoot person except when my heel spurs say otherwise lol I am not a runner though but a swimmer and scuba diver--I could have used those 20 years ago when we did some cliff diving and the rocks poke through my wetsuit boots--they have a low enough profile to fit in a fin pocket.

I saw one dude wearing these at the gym in University and I thought he was wearing those like swimming shoes you see kids wearing cuz their parents are worried about them picking up a foot fungus on the deck lol.

Glad I know he wasn't being extremely ridiculous....then again I saw a guy doing squats in a pair of Crocs, so people are weird in general.

I actually really want a pair of those. Supposedly, they take a while to break in, you're supposed to gradually use them until your feet/toes/legs get adjusted but it's worth it. A few of my friends have them and really like them. Let me know how they are!

I was looking at a pair today. The sales lady stated the typical break in is to start wearing for about 30 percent of your workout and gain about 10 percent 15 percent more time in each week.

well finally i got a chance to run in these things over the weekend, Deaths in the family and friend of family died along with a Pregnant fiance really kept my feet out of these. Now I have to say, I normally fun for 30mins on 8.0 to 8.5 on the treadmill. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING YOUR NORMAL WORKOUT IN THESE. I had to put the treadmill on 6.0 and ran only 12 minutes. These shoes work your muscles in a totally different way. My calves felt the most effect, but the insides and outsides got it. In shoes the inside of my calves are worked not the outsides, so you guys know how my outside calves feel lol. All in all I enjoyed the workout and look forward to another one after my legs heal up a little more. 12 minutes beat me down. Crazy stuff eh?
