Does anybody know the theoretical minimum number of days left in the lockout? Like they're having one more meeting or something in a couple of days or something?

I say this because the stories on the front page are getting increasingly less relevant and boring. For example today there was 1 story, and it was about the cheer leaders. Like I love cheer leaders as much as anybody else but they're not gonna win us the superbowl. Lets get the CBA done. Do it for the fans! Surely our happiness needs to be taken into account, or else they're going to have no fans left with enough love for the teams to buy their merchandise, and that 9 billion dollars is going to seem like peanuts compared to the money lost from loss of interest.

I don't think anything is supposed to happen until after the June 3rd hearing with 8th circuit court. The players are holding out to see who gains leverage from that.

I would actually like to compliment Duffy and the team for keeping things so relevant. It's tough to come up with stories this time during the season let alone during a lockout.

Kudos to the Baltimore Ravens site team!

Besides today is Sunday, you are lucky to get any stories during the weekend during the off-season.

its not that I don't appreciate their effort its just I'd rather be hearing about possible FA signing/ actual FA signings or trade rumours etc than the fact that cheer camp got their photos up,

Agreed. It's killing me not knowing what our team will look like. There would have been so many trades and free agent signings by now (including our own guys). It's hard to tell what ALL of our needs will be when we don't even know who's staying and who's leaving.

LOL why would someone neg me for this comment? IS there someone out there more infatuated with the status of our cheerleaders than the actual team?

I like news about the Ravens more than just about anyone.. but like I posted on another article where some guy was complaining about "old news" .. I said.. Were in a freakin lockout, there is no news!

Sad, but true. Like above poster stated, we are lucky to have a site that updates as much as this in a LOCKOUT. I remember going to the steelers site last offseason.. and they didnt update it for about 4 months.

Thank you Baltimoreravens.com staff for keeping things going as much as you can.

well its not that we're upset with the fact that the writers can't come up with a story as that is not the case our writers are fantastic. I'm more upset with the fact that this lockout is continuing which manifests itself in one way by putting a halt on any incoming news which is really starting to tick some people off, me included. Usually we would be drooling over trade rumours and FA rumours/signings...instead we're just sitting here...reading w.e our news team can scrounge up. which to their credit hasn't been all bad, I just really want to hear some BIG NEWS!

You have to keep in mind, the front office (including the people who maintain the site) have their hands tied as much as the coaches do with the players. There's so much time between now and the regular season and so few stories to write, that it's amazing how Duffy & Co. can even come up with stories to begin with. The writers and other people affiliated with Digital Media aren't allowed contact with the players, so it's hard to come up with any content when there's so few sources to work with.

Shoot, it's a miracle we Mods are even allowed to interact with the players via social media like Facebook and Twitter. This is one of the few times where it pays to be unpaid and, therefore, exempt from all this lockout madness.

Keep it up guys. It seems to be the same malarkey going on these boards but at least you guys are continuing to update us.

I can't wait for June 3rd. Maryland football and basketball are probably going to suck hard next year so it'd be pretty rough to take a year without my Ravens.

Thanks everyone for your support. It has been challenging - especially post-draft - to come up with content. Kudos to Mike, Ryan, Sarah and John Eisenberg for keeping us going (and to our mods who are awesome).

I suspect it is going to get even more challening in the coming weeks. As a head's up, due to the restrictions of the lockout, we are not allowed to directly cover this week's player workouts at Towson. But, we will look for ways to cover it without being there.

Please send us any story ideas you may have (that fit within the restrictions!). We'd welcome any legit suggestions.

Many thanks as always for hanging with us,

Michelle

Are you serious? We should have more pictures of the cheerleaders. In the background of the site and in posts where they're not relevant. Do you really need to be plugged into only football all day all year round?

Yea I kinda disagree I think the front page articles have been pretty good. I started posting here pretty recently but lurked for awhile and I rarely come on the forums (this is probably the third time since the draft) but a number of the articles have been very good.

Hey. I was curious about the Topps photoshoots and players visiting the schools out in California. I saw Torrey Smith was out there along with other teams draft picks, but wasn't sure why none of the other new ravens joined him.

i haven't been on the main site lately, but since obviously there's not much going on to report about, how about just some speculative articles? Opinions on what free agents we may target, what rules free agency may go under, off season/training camp battles to watch once lockout is over, what kind of defense our new DC Chuck Pagano may implement, or anything bashing Roethlisberger are always points of interest for a Ravens fan, and a good way to stir discussion and keep interest high during these down times.

I can't say this as a statement of fact, but I assume that they only invite players who are high draft picks, usually within the first two rounds. Also, it's subject to the players' individual availability since I believe that participation in the photoshoot is an independent business decision rather than something league or team-mandated.
