Where Will Marc Bulger Go?

9 posts in this topic

It has become widely agreed that the Ravens 1-year veteran backup QB Marc Bulger will be on the move again to a starting job. Bulger could easily follow in his predisesor Kurt Warner routs, to an undrafted nobody, to a starter for the St. Louis Rams. Like Warner, his later years with the team went downhill, do to injuries, interceptions, and inconsistent play. Also like Warner, he spent one bum year with another team. Warner than resurrected his career with the Arizona Cardinals for the next three or four years, and the already 1-time Super Bowl Champion got the Cards to an appearance in one more. Now, Bulger has the chance to get back to the status of elite, possibly also with Arizona. Thoughts?

My guess is either Arizona or Cincinnati. He supposedly has/had an "agreement" with Arizona but we'll see how it goes.

I would be very surprised if he isn't playing for Arizona next season. Wisenhunt wanted him last year, but couldn't have him because of poor decisions by the Cards' ownership. Bulger is an immediate upgrade over Anderson, and with a decent group of receivers he might be able to do some damage. Really, the only drawback for Bulger is the bad offensive line, which I don't think will be able to keep him upright very well.

Arizona. They showed interest in him last year but I think the Owner didn't want to get him while Whisenhunt did. I doubt he'll resurrect his career but even with Bulger I expect that the Cardinals will be in the Andrew Luck Sweepstakes for 2012.

I think AZ. Can't for the life of me understand why they'd want to risk a first or second round pick on Kolb who hasn't proven himself to be good enough to make them anywhere near the team they were with Warner.

Personally, I feel their best situation would be to sign Bulger, play him for the year and see how it goes. Worst case scenario they end up with a QB much more likely to end up as their franchise guy than any of those this year. (Or Kolb for that matter.)
