Madden 12 Franchise Mode

Finally got through my Regular Season Simulation. I'm in the playoffs and every Wild Card game is matched up right and I'm skeptical of getting Madden 13 so I may just keep this Simulation and simulate every game of the regular season the way it happens in the 2012-2013 Season. Plus since you can edit player ratings, I'll just fix players up and move them to where they are on Madden 13 and fix the potentials, etc.

can oyu not just update madden 12 when madden 13 comes out and have the right rosters? or do they not allow that since then sales would fall

They don't allow it, what I mean is since I have the Draft Class from NCAA I can just draft accordingly to how the real draft is played out so everyone is where they should be and I'll play out Free Agency the same way. Plus this time I'm not going to fall for the hype of Madden 13 and wait until Madden 14 or something.

All we would be doing is paying $60 for a roster update anyhow, so I might as well just update the roster myself and keep the $60 lol.

Wow... I got through my simulation and I stopped for a bit to allow Free Agency to happen so I can assign players to their new teams, and I went to do the trade between Rams & Redskins and the Draft Order was screwed up. Rams were picking 1st, Colts 2nd, Buccaneers 4th, Browns 5th, Oakland 13th, Redskins were picking 7th, not 6th. Bills picking 9th instead of 10th, Chargers picking 15th, not 18th, Cardinals picking 18th, Texans picking 27th, not 26th. This whole thing is screwed up.

Looks like you have to go through and do trades for all of them.

Well I do play Franchise Mode during the regular season but usually when Free Agency comes and the Draft, I switch players around and I create all the rookies that Franchise Mode to me is useless. Now what I did was go through week by week game after game, to simulate the correct win-loss record. I had all the playoff games correct all the way down to a Giants-Patriots SB. I have decided that I'm probably not going to buy Madden 13 so since I have a file that is simulated to last year, all I have to do is worry about Free Agency, getting everyone on the right team and then the Draft.

So when I looked at the picks, I noticed it was all screwed up and had teams randomly everywhere. I may just save me the trouble of it and actually just keep the order, even if it is screwed up. Do the Draft like it is in real life and then worry about the upcoming season when it gets here.

how do you get the rookies in? do you bring them in form the NCAA game? and then im assuming when madden 13 comes, you will update the player stats as too what the are in that game?

Pretty much. I have a 2012 Draft Class and a 2013 Draft Class. Yeah once Madden 13 comes out, I'll update the Roster potentials and OVRs for all the teams and then I'll make a copy of the file for the new season and put it on a flash drive so that way I can play with the file using different teams, maybe go through and do my own simulations of the season, play it out in different ways, etc. Like I said, I'm probably not going to get Madden 13 unless they do something really big and it gets a good reaction. I mean they made a big deal about an all new Free Agency, expanded rosters, cut days and it still didn't really add anything to Madden 12.

yea for me cap and salaries would be a huge upgrade, i mean not everyone understands how the cap works, so like it could be an option, just means you can cut players and not worry about dead money, and it means you cant just offer ridiculous money for FAs

This is just something I'm curious of. Does anyone here when playing Franchise mode create your own story lines and do your own regular season? Basically what I mean is even if you do select one team, do you go to the section that says League Schedule and play other games in a way to create your own story and own season, or play a 32 team Franchise and play or sim every game the way you want it.

I'm really thinking about trying that for Madden 13(if I get it) or on Madden 12 with the Franchise File I have that matches last season and the entire off-season. For Example, I may go and make the Browns under Brandon Weeden and Trent Richardson a team that is on the rise and wins 7-8 games and surprises the league, and make a storyline out of it where heading into the off-season, what do the Browns need to do to get into the playoffs after surprising everyone last year, Kevin Kolb has a bad season in Arizona and the Cardinals are picking # 1 in the 2013 Draft, out with Kolb and in comes Barkley, etc.

I figure with the way Madden is now, there is no real storyline to anything, it's just game to game, and the only way to keep interested is if you create your own story lines and mess around with it to keep you interested in it.

[/quote]why wouldn't you just play as them and see how it turns out rather than fixing other games. It a console game not a movie production

lol I know. It's just that Madden doesn't have the true story telling from season to season, and it's so boring without any type of storyline. You could win the Super Bowl but it's like next season your not even mentioned as Super Bowl Champs, there is nothing about the last season, it just moves on with no story telling. That's why I'm thinking about making my own storylines, I mean sure I'll try to keep it realistic but for the most part it's just a way to have more fun with Franchise Mode.

I have done alot of fantasy drafts and am looking to do another..yet again...and need some help

How do you find the fantasy draft rolls out?? What positions do you find go early and in bunches and around what point in the draft

I know WRs and RBs go relatively early and you can miss out rather easily if you dont go early

I like to get a good QB, 2 good CBs, a decent RB, good TE, a good pass rusher. I find D harder to control in this game so I draft defense first and offense (after QB) later. Also I find it easy to get lots of good young players later in the draft. In one draft I got Revis and Nnamdi in the same draft plus the rest of the team was under 30 with tons of potential.

well I tried another on offense the key guys I got were Larry Fitz, Victor Cruz, Iupati, Snee, Cam Newton and Shady McCoy...Got a good amount of young guys like Gresham, Carimi, Clady, Rodney Hudson filling other holes
On defense my key guys are Orakpo, Von Miller, Joe Haden, Eric Berry, Kenny Phillips, and Cushing...My 34 DL is not the best and is my major weakness but i did manage to get McPhee, then I just loaded up with quantity with Linval Joseph, Cameron Jordan, Cam Heyward, Muhammed Wilkerson - Its a little too young, but after a season or two should be good, I am thinking of trying to trade for Dareus or JJ Watt - I also got Jimmy Smith and Jameel McClain to round off my ravens needs for my team (which was the Browns, ha).

Overall one of my better drafts, but it does need some veterans on the defense

After a few seasons that will be a great team. I think they need to fix the fantasy drafts a little because the computer will take an old player at 87 overall over a young player at 86 overall which just doesn't make sense.

agreed as Im guessing if the NFL actually had a fantasy draft (which they never will/should) we would be seeing a ton of reaches on young players based on potential and years left in them. Hypothetically speaking that is.

I always try to go after oline early. I like to get absolutely stacked up front, and then just build for a running team with a good tight end.

I once had a line that had Joe Thomas - Mike Iupati - Nick Mangold - Marshal Yanda - Eric Winston.

Defenses did not stand a chance.
