Madden 12 Franchise Mode

267 posts in this topic

Alright just like the Description says, now that we know what all they have done to Franchise Mode what is the team you'll first play with and what is the first moves you'll make with that team?

Like always I'll start out with the Ravens, the very first move I'll make is to try to get Gaither on a 2-3 Year Deal to allow Jah Reid to develop on the bench for a couple years. I'll sign UDFA Kris O'Dowd, Deunta Williams and Mark Herzlich off Free Agency. I'll sign Yanda to a 4-5 Year deal to keep him at RG. I'll probably Scout a Primary MLB to be the successor of Ray Lewis, and I'll scout a SS to take over for Landry in Year 2.

Given the time, I'll do all of what you just said for the Ravens and then go on and rebuild a load of franchises. The Redskins and the Bills seem to be two of the main franchises in need of a rebuild.

I agree. Rebuilding is the more fun part of Franchise. Now with the additions they have done to Franchise Mode all together it should be even more interesting and take longer to build up a team. I'll probably play with the Bills and focus on their defense even more.

I normally don't do major trades but when I play with the Texans I might just go and trade Mario Williams for a bunch of picks and to a 4-3 team to help rebuild the Texans defense into a 3-4 defense.

I'll also pull a Josh McDaniels and probably tear apart the Chargers by trading Rivers and Vincent Jackson for a bunch of picks and just start over.

One move which I always like to do, just for the sheer pettiness and the fact that I can't stand the guy, is to trade Mark Sanchez to a team who won't ever play him for a seventh round pick. Almost like saying screw you to Rex.

Like in 11, I'll start a new franchise with the Cardinals. I can't even wait to build that defense around Patty Peterson

Wait, what changes did they make to Franchise mode?

I was under the impression they wouldn't change anything besides a roster update and slightly better graphics (maybe even a new toy like Gameflow).

I will be the Ravens and I will try to either draft a dominant OLB next to Suggs or sign one in FA. Then, I will look for a replacement for Ray-Ray in the upcoming draft and maybe a upgrade over Landry ( I'm cool with Landry though ). I will resign Gaither and give Ngata a big contract.

Only team I ever play with is the Ravens. I usually resign Gaither anyways to slide Yanda back inside, but depending on how Reid progresses it might only be a 2 year deal. First priority for me depends if Kindle is in the game, if he is it will be to draft a MLB. And straight pay Ngata.

These new updates sound so dope. Personally, I wasn't planning on buying the game yet again this year, but I'm pretty sure I will after reading up on these updates.

I think I'll destroy the Steelers franchise just for fun :P

I'll go with the obvious answer of Ravens. After I win a few Super Bowls with them I'll probably do a fantasy draft because that's always fun and then I'll probably create a team. It's fun to build a team from scratch with a "cupcake" roster and make them into a powerhouse NFL franchise.

I was the same way, I wasnt going to buy it, maybe rent it to see how it was. But these new features are exactly what Ive been wanting for a long time. I like the hot and cold factors, because on Sundays there are guys who are just cold hearted consistent and then theres guys who you dont know what to expect.

I'll probably take over a crappy team that I think had a good draft that addressed needs with talent.

I don't know why, but I can NEVER bring myself to use a good franchise. I ALWAYS pick a bad/mediocre franchise and build them back up, which looks like it'll be much more fun this year.

Being able to adjust player ratings in franchise mode sounds awesome and could make adjusting trade values to make them realistic much easier. It also means that you can't make a dominant 4-3 defense by taking 3-4 OLBs, converting them to DEs and then changing 3-4 DEs to DTs.

Finally, what looks like a challenging Franchise mode in Madden!

This year though, after you win a couple Super Bowls with the Ravens, now in the off-season you can go and switch teams and you can take the worst team in the league, build them up, win a few Super Bowls with them and switch to another team, etc. That's one thing I do like, the ability to switch teams.

What are you going to do with Timmons/Harrison/Farrior?

Start out with the Ravens of course. Look for a pass rusher and then start looking for a pass rusher and successors to Ed Reed and Ray Lewis the following season.

After my first franchise, I'll look to rebuild the Raiders.

Harrison is the ROLB and Timmons/Farrior will split time at MLB.

Your going to move the Steelers to a 4-3 defense? Then you better scout 4-3 players to play the 4-3. You bring up moving the Steelers to a 4-3, oddly enough when Lebeau retires I can see Tomlin moving the Steelers to a 4-3 defense since he came from Minnesota who ran a 4-3.

We already have them. I think Woodley is a more than capable 4-3 end. In fact, he was on in college. I think we could play an effective 4-3 this year if we had to with Keisel and Wood on the ends and a Hampton/Hood in the middle. Although, Farrior would likely get the start in reality with Timmons coming in on 3rd down in the Dime packages, but hey, in Madden, I'm sure it will work. haha

I would probably just trade away Farrior. The dude is pretty old and especially in a 4-3 Timmons is the MLB of the future. Dealing Farrior would give you another player that would hopefully help you gain some more 4-3 personnel or picks.

Just phasing out Farrior? I cant see him covering alot of ground in a 43 defense. One of the worst things for Ravens franchises is finding another MLB who is good. I pretty much quit when I have to replace Ray and he's not half as good lol.

Who do you use to pass rush in the 43 beside Woodley?

Keisel - Hood - Hampton - Woodley

Harrison - Timmons - Worilds

Yeah, that's a pretty cool feature that they added. Personally though, if I'm going to rebuild a team then I'd rather start from the upcoming season and work from there. Then at least I know that the team getting better or worse is all because of the moves I made and not the CPU.

Good point but than again since the AI is usually bad you could always fix their mistakes.

If they really did fix the Draft Import from NCAA to Madden I might really make a whole bunch of imported draft classes and play Franchise more than 4 seasons.

I heard they fixed the AI FO in Madden 12. I always make my own team, and make them the cupcake rating. Then build them up. I like building a team of my own drafted players.

In the online franchise I'm in, I'm gonna try and get the Ravens.

Just decided on a few things I'm going to do in Franchise Mode.

As the Ravens, I'll trade Sergio Kindle and a high pick for Aldon Smith giving me someone young & opposite across from Suggs. I'm also going to cut Kelly Gregg and start Terrence Cody at NT full time and trade JJ for a low pick or something.

As for the Chargers, I'll trade Phillip Rivers and Vincent Jackson for a whole bunch of picks and use the surplus of Picks to Draft Andrew Luck and a replacement for Vincent Jackson and switch the Chargers to a 4-3 Defense. The only problem is finding a Head Coach to replace Norv Turner. If Jon Gruden were in the game I would fire Norv Turner, and hire Jon Gruden as my Head Coach.
