Boler / Smith Cant Compare

41 posts in this topic

As many of you know, I am NOT a fan of Troy or Kyle, really. I think Kyle should start but Smith might be the better candidate if the O-line decides to fold. I don't think either one of them have what it takes to take us deep into the playoffs, or even into the playoffs for that matter. I think they are a bandaid until Flacco is ready. I think he will be third on the depth chart until late in the season when he becomes the number 2 guy. And if the season looks like it's all for not 9 or 10 games in, I think he'll get his chance to start.

If you look up Flacco in the NFL Dictionary in a few years here is what it will say.

Joe Flacco......See Joey Harrington or David Carr.

I hope I am wrong but I have never been sold on the guy and all I hear right now is a ton of wishful thinking.

Smith = Best albeit slim chance to win with all of the other issues this team has to overcome.

Boller = Apprieate the effort, but man it just ain't happening.

Flacco = Clip board for his entire first year.

I doubt it. He has ice-cold concentration. Under Cam, I see this kid doing great things.

last year Kyle Boller couldnt beat the Dolphins. nuff said.

we tied the game at the end and wouldve won in ot if it wasnt for a missed fg because this one guy came in for Boller at the end and played great. i think his name was smith somethin.

oh yeah thats right it was troy smith!

Kyle was playing well in that game. He got injured and had to leave, Troy didn't do much.

5/11 for 49 yds is not "great". It's not even mentionable.

better take a closer look into that game. nuff said.

All you Troy Smith fans really should LEARN some NFL, What the Hell has Troy Smith done in THE NFL level. YEAH, NOTHING. The guy is the most inaccurate QB in the NFL, INCLUDING 2nd stringers, the guy cantg even come close to completing half His passes. The guy has no idea when and where to throw the ball, He rather run it, and usally for VERY MINAMAL gain.

<please read the Code of Conduct. It is a violation to knowingly post false information>

He should start the 4th, heck start Him the season opener, Let Him start all 16 games regardless of W-L, so all you Troy Smith obsessers would shut up about His Hiesman, shut up on the fact that "He never got a chance" I really really hope the coach is as dumb as most of the TS fans, because I cant stand the fact that when ANY QB in the NFL put up stats like TS has, they would be BOOO'ed no questions asked, but ONLY BECAUSE HE WON THE HIESMAN TROPHY He gets a pass.

Boller has sucked for X amount of starts. so even when He starts out with 70% completion He still sucks, because well He's Boller. ;sigh; Troy Smith fans just DONT make sense to me.

Why not? It helps the Offense. It's a factor of Boller's game, just as scrambling is a factor of Troy's.

Trent Green comes to mind...

Don't get me wrong I love when the Qb gets his hands dirty and lays a block on someone but it's not something I want to see happen every chance he gets. Cool if he makes a block that springs the RB, it'll look good on tape and people will say what a tough qb. Not cool if he breaks his shoulder or gets a concussion and leaves the team with a backup holding the reins for the rest of the year.

The Chiefs were a playoff caliber team b4 they lost Trent. Now look at em. But we are talking about Boller so I could careless. Infact the more he blocks the greater the chance he might not be in next play :D So yeah i guess I am for it now that i think about it. (boller only)

More of a Boller-hater than a Raven-fan, huh?

Haha, maybe we should play Kyle at OT if he's such a great blocker, maybe he could do something good (for once) . . .

Kyle doesn't get credit for anything. I'd love to see him stick around here for the remainder of his career as a backup. He's a very capable, smart veteran QB.

It is my observation that comparing boler to smith is difficult and unfair.

They have two total different playing styles.

Dare I say for two different applications.

Simth can move around amazingly well. Fast, quick, good instinct.

Accurcy on the pass, lacks a bit and does not really have a cannon.

Boler one hell of a passer, fairly decent play reader.

But he cant get out of his own way, and gets fusterated and "out of the game" too quickly and easily.

Comparing boler to smith is like comparing an SUV to a sports car.

One is better for one application and one is better for another.

Not exactally interchangeable.

i think its plain and simple all 3 of these quarterbacks would play 10 times better with a better o line in front of them. lets face it boller wouldnt have to get out of his own way if he wasnt running for his life i think him and flacco would be great pocket passers, troy i think would like to run around no matter what but i think the bottom line is we dont need better QBs we need a real o line. that will either come with time or thru trade .
