I , for one, question Ozzie Newsome. I'm not totally sold on my theory, but how possible is it that Phil Savage was making things happen for us and we have been giving Ozzie Newsome the credit for it all this time. What great draft have we had since the departure of Phil Savage???

this year

we got Flacco, Rice, Gooden, Nakamura, Zbikowski, Harper, Smith, Oneil COusins, who else?

thats not really a great draft but i think its a good one. above average

I'm going with Tony Romo. Flacco needs time to develop, then he could emerge as a quality QB. He isn't ready to be thrown in the fire. It would just be nice if he could have a QUALITY vet to mentor him....right now that is what he is lacking.

Question should be, what QB does He have the Potental to be. To Me, BIG BEN, Big guy, can move pretty well for His sikze, rocket arm, and smart. Only thing Big ben, had / has on Flacco is the fact that Ben has way better talant around Him.

Heaven forbid we have a QB that working on learning a new speed, new offense, new house, new environment, new everything... who also throws over 50% completions and ZERO interceptions. Yeah, the sky is definitely falling now...

LOL!

Good point. I couldn't put it better myself.

I think Flacco is gonna create a new category at QB. I think he'll have a mobile Brady/Manning style of game. Not saying he's gonna be the next manning or brady jus sayin I think his style of play will be similar as he starts to settle down and becomes an experienced NFL qb. I dont know why that's just what comes to mind.

If im wrong so what? If im right....

I'm sorry Joe Flacco fans, I shouldn't have compared him to Ryan Leaf. Maybe Akili Smith, Alex Smith, Joey Harrington, Byron Leftwich, David Carr, or Kyle Boller. And I honestly like Kyle Boller, i think we NEED to give him another shot. With Chad Slaughter starting at left tackle, I'm sure all of our quarterbacks will get quality time under center this season.

Are you serious? You're comparing him to those guys and he hasn't even played a season game? Very nice judgment my friend. The Ravens are trying to develop him into good QB and not throw him into starting job just yet. I rather have Troy Smith start instead of Boller since he has had nearly 6 years to prove himself.

Agreed. Over 90% of us probably feel the same way.

i agree i want flacco to have more time to develop but i think boller is just as effective as smith because neither one of them are really showing up the other. i dont care who are qb is i just want to win some games. i really never want to see another season like last year as long as that never happens again im a happy fan.

and oh yea i think he will become his own type of qb

surprised u didnt have jen in there.... but ken stabler?? thats a bit random... anyways

flacco is not brett favre... brett favre is just a guy who makes every throw he sees without thinking

and slings the ball down field praying his receiver would catch it.... (favre is overrated like heck)

there obviously are going to be question marks about Flacco because of his college background. but what i like about Flacco is that he has poise like Troy Smith and a great arm like Kyle Boller. so hopefully we will get the best of both worlds with Flacco. he has been progressing each time I see him play, which is a good sign for things to come.

Im really starting to question the logic in the members of this forum?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!

Are 12 people seriously going to compare Joe Flacco who hasn't played a regular season game yet to the likes of arguably the greatest quarterback to play the game?

In all do respect I like Joe Flacco, I think hes got a lot of promise and I believe he has POTENTIAL. He has no clear resemblance to any of these players and quit honestly I think this post is absurd. I would have really liked the Flacco criticism to have begun at least 'til he played in a season game.

I compaired Joe Flacco to Akili Smith, Joey Harrington and those guys simply because he was a mid-first round pick, who should've been picked in the second or third round. We like to think that he will "develop" into a good NFL quarterback. 1st round picks should not be experiments, who need time to develop. 1st round picks should be ready to start opening week. Tony Romo and Tom Brady needed time to develop. Ben Rothlesburger and Peyton Manning were first round picks. How long does it take a quarterback to "develop"? 3,4 years??? In 3 or 4 years there will be no Ray Lewis, Kelly Gregg, Trevor Price, Chris McAllister, Samari Rolle or Derrick Mason. I want to see those guys have a chance to win. Our 1st round pick gives us the WORST chance to win. and think about it, if we lose the next 3,4 years, there will be no John Harbaugh. Picking him 1st in the draft leads me to question, what derection we are headed in. Are we giving up on the guys I mentioned and rebuilding??? We all will agree that picking quarterbacks in the first round is a hit or miss situation. When you go 5-11, you don't have room to hit or miss. U have to improve.

It means US Dollar, as in; my 2 cents. I am not a kid, if I had something else to say, I would've said it. Like this:

I don't like this rivalry, I don't like your points or your interpretations. I don't like your grammar, I don't like your thread etiquette, and I don't like the fact that you think I enjoy our banter, let me correct this misunderstanding; I do not see you as my rival, I see you as another high schooler that regularly contributes to the piles of nonsense I have to sift through to find a stimulating or thought provoking post here. I would love it if you never replied or posted here again.

You post the same exact statement in every single thread. It's so repetitive and mistake-ridden. Learn to spell, dude. Your opinion on 1st round picks starting by Week 1 is unfounded. Manning struggled his rookie season, yeah he was a first round pick, look where he is now. Carson Palmer sat his entire first season on the bench then became an All-Pro QB within 2 seasons. There's no formula for when Flacco should start, when he's ready, they'll put him in.

I find it so comical that before a man even takes a regular season snap he is already compared to one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game. This is without a doubt the funniest thing I have ever heard.

I cant believe I am hearing this.

.. "1st round picks should be ready to start opening week. "Ben Rothlesburger and Peyton Manning were first round picks. How long does it take a quarterback to "develop"? 3,4 years???" It Took Peyton ONE year to devolop, although His rookie season wasnt "that" bad, but His teams record was. Big Ben came in His 2nd game and won 15 straight games, BUT He was not projected to be the starter at ALL.. Tom Brady was a 6th round pick, very true.. He also played in His 2nd year and played Very well. Romo was a project QB, and it paid off in the end, Its not the best to start a Rookie "before" He's ready.. couple examples from our own team, Boller, Troy Smith. Even take out the rookie part, Its not wise to have a "not ready starting QB" starting, few examples from our own team again.. Flacco, Boller and Smith. Why we diddnt get rid of one of our project QB's and grab a "pocket Passer" Vet to show Flacco how its done is BEYOND me. Maybe it's Harbaugh's plan to rebuild, If we have another sad record at the end of the season, then He's prolly going to "clean house"
