Happy 36th Birthday, Ray Lewis!

15 posts in this topic

Birthday wishes go out to the legendary #52, Ray Lewis, who turns 36 today!

Even at the age of 36, Ray can still play at a level that younger players with twice the athleticism only wish they played at! No substitute for hard work and a willingness to continually learn your craft!

We love you, old man! :)

The reason I started liking the Ravens in the first place. Simply inspirational and a great player. There won't be another like him, and I'm entirely okay with that. Happy birthday, Ray!

He may be 36 but he still plays like is 26.

Can't wait for another year of "this is the year Ray Lewis misses a Step" being said by the media, which will mean another year of Ray showing he can still play and proving them all wrong.

Agreed. Ray Lewis at 65-75% of his former ability is still better than 80% of the league at that position. I will gladly take that.

Sure, the man's gotten noticeably slower and has had a few glaringly bad plays over the past couple of years that are uncharacteristic of him, but his overall production on the field still speaks for itself. The numbers, the actual plays themselves, all have been amazing.

Every year "Sports News" sites try to be insightful and forecast a downturn for Ray Lewis, and every year they are made to look like absolute fools. This man has not slowed down, and has not showed signs of slowing down. As far as linebackers go, he's the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

The very first time I saw Ray was at the old stadium. He ran side line to side line like a panther running down a deer. All I could really see were flashes as he made his dashes and went air born to make tackles. Can still remember hearing the game caller as he would say, "Ray Lewis in on the tackle"(BC) or Ray Lewis makes the tackle"(BC) on nearly every play. He was the first Raven I cared for and now I'm bleeding purple.
