my problem is that we needed to do other things too, such as address the pass rush and OL, both of which I feel are far more important.
Assuming a strong OL, I feel Flacco already had more than enough weapons, having Boldin, Rice, Heap as established stars (not going to count Mase since this is his last year), and has plenty of young talent as well in Dickson, Pitta, Reed and Hardy who could step up in a supporting role if given a chance.

And no, nothing wrong with Berrian at all. However, Berrian type guys are dime a dozen; spending a 2nd on one is a hard pill for me to swallow...,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
[/quote]Harewood comes back we even drafted a RT(Reid)and it wouldnt surprise me to see them pick up an UDFA since there is a couple of Centers that didnt get drafted,Gaither may even come back its still unknown, they obviously felt Smith was BPA,Ravens draft for need or bpa? drafting for need will usually just have u reach for a guy.Id much rather draft a bpa even if the position is not of need if they feel the player they draft has more of a chance to succeed in the NFL.

I do feel pass rush is important but it was a weak OLB class this year. And we dont have plenty of young talent there is always room for young offensive talent(we are not a young team by any means),I dont think Hardy is goin to be anything more than a nice practice squad edition and the jury is still out on Pitta and Dickson but I like Dicksons potential and he showed signs of promise.

I've come to accept that the Ravens FO was very high on Torrey, as evidenced by the fact that Ozzie expressed how little he expected him to be around when we picked in the second round.

At the time, I was much more in favour of picking Justin Houston, but it wasn't to be.

there's nothing wrong with this OLB class at all. Not only that, but there were some nice DE to be had in the middle rounds as well. Everyone seems to be forgetting that OLB aren't the only reason pressure occurs.

And our last three picks....wth? We passed on way too much talent who could have helped our OL and OLB, and grabbed a 3rd string CB, a backup DL who may not see any snaps, and a RB who probably wont even make the team.

Compared WRs:

Greg Jennings 2006 (1st year): 45 rec 632 yds 3 tds Special Teams: 5 PR 5.8 yd avg

Jeremy Maclin 2009 (1st year): 55 rec 762 yds 4 tds Special Teams: 7 KR 17.7 yd avg 6 PR 5 yd avg

Prediction:

Torrey Smith 2011 (1st year): 20-50 rec 300-600 yds 0-5 tds total Special Teams: 0-10 KR

I believe Torrey is going to be on the passenger seat this season with his product limited because of his slow preseason and the deep WR corps. He should just try to build his confidence and try to be a factor late in the season, rather than early. I think the acquisition of Lee Evans should relieve a lot of pressure on Torrey to perform big.

I really don't see more than 30 receptions, at the absolute most for Torrey, with 22 probably more realistic. 300 to 450 yards is probably more fitting, and no more than 3 touchdowns. That's if he continues to perform the way he has been, eventually he's going to start losing ground to not only Doss but Reed as well. He'll be thrown in there to run deep, and will make some catches, but he's not going to have a very successful year. All I can hope for is this being a year he can use to build upon, start honing his skills, and eventually see as a foundation to his career. Luckily for him, having Evans on the team will pull some of the heat off him.

I see about 5-15 receptions this year. I dont think he will play very much.

I think he's going to improve slightly as the year goes on, not enough to become a substantial part of the offense, but enough that he's going to see a bit of play time.
