I think he should change his name to Rashard MendenHUH... because when he tweets, you're always left scratching your head.

Okay, that was a little funny. lol

Mendenhall said nothing out of line and I find it ridiculous the outrage that has been made with his comments. How a person's death is celebrated when people really don't know the entire situation. I don't want to get into a political discussion, but I recommend everyone to watch Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup if you have more interest on the whole 9/11 situation from Mendenhall's perspective. I think his comments are derived from that documentary and it is on Netflix and it really changed my perspective and my life to a certain degree.

I respect Mendenhall's comments and his correction of his comments makes me respect him more. So many times people forget to look from a humanitarian perspective and we think we are superior than one another. And when a society thinks they are superior, that is when they will act like they are superior. Which is how we get wars, genocides, holocausts. I'm not religious but my friend said the line to me, "would Jesus wash Bin Laden's feet or shoot him in the face". If Jesus existed, his humanitarian perspective should carry over to society. It's what Martin Luther King Jr. and Ghandi taught. Just something to think about

That "documentary" was made in a kids bedroom and it's the biggest farce in recent memory. I suggest that you educate yourself.

Not sure if that's 100% true. I'll even call it a movie to avoid an argument, but (assuming you have seen it) the movie makes some logical points. But like a lot of things in the world, I can't force an individual to look at logical points. Either way that is not what I am arguing or what Mendenhall is arguing. Chanting "USA USA USA" at a Phillies game at the news of Bin Laden's death is sad more than anything. Especially after all the innocent civilians killed to get to Bin Laden through Guerilla Warfare. People are fooling themselves to think that the United States are sweet and innocent, and all the "bad people with turbans" are out to get us. There is a cause for everything so I wouldn't be so quick to throw the first stone.

There are references out there, credible references at that, which shed light on the smoke and mirrors used to create any mild form of logic that you may see in that film. Do yourself the justice of looking into them.

I understand that. I had already moved past that discussion. The second part of my statement is still there if you want to comment on my actual point.

Don't know the entire situation? You know, if Mendenhall hadn't said that people have "only heard one side" maybe his comments wouldn't be such a big deal. What could possibly be bin Laden and Al-Qaeda's "side of the story" that would justify what they had done? Maybe the Bush family snubbed the bin Laden family with the bill at dinner one night years ago.

However, I'm not going to start on that. Like I said though, had Rashard just said something about not being able to understand how a country could celebrate another person's death like America did to bin Laden's, then maybe this wouldn't be such a big deal. But insinuating that we never heard his side of the story is disrespectful (at very least) to those innocent lives lost, not just on September 11th, but by any other situation that was linked to Osama, Al-Qaeda, or in the "War on Terror".

I have no issues with Americans celebrating that. I DO have an issue with Obama taking a "Victory Lap" around the WTC site, bu that's another matter.

I also don't believe the average educated American looks at all Islamics the same anymore; maybe on September 12th 2001, but not today. Sure some do, but. There were a whole host of them who celebrated right along with us. OBL was the epitome of evil and he finally reaped what he sowed.

It's been mentioned here before, but this is not Mendy's first time making questionable comments. He's lost his privilege to the benefit of the doubt in my mind. And this is coming from a fan of his as a player.

Or you have seen what the United States media has allowed you to see. For every one soldier that dies in combat there are at least twice as many innocent civilians that are killed because of war which is not publicly seen or shown in the media. I'm not saying that the United States government took down the towers or anything like that. I'm just saying in war, no one's hands are clean. Which makes it hard for me glorify anyone's death.

I could be wrong but I think thats what Mendenhall was trying to say. Which I don't understand what is so wrong with saying that or why people think I'm saying anything ridiculous or wrong. I'll let God be the judge because if people had a choice to judge me, I'm not sure I would be in people's favor either. But your point saying 'your wrong, I'm right' was very convincing. I'm not sure how I could ever combat your point

In other words, his agent ripped him a new one. I don't know if he has any endorsement deals, but if he did, they're probably about to go the way of the dodo.

The death of a human being is tragic ...But a human being doesn't slaughter thousands, so by my standards, Osama wasn't human, he was a deranged animal. The world did not lose anything by Osama's passing, but it certainly gained a lot.I'll drink to that

It's a football topic that skirts politics and I think we've done a good job sticking with the issue....plus, it's an opportunity to bash a Steeler. :P

Great point. If this were a trial, the judge would be saying something such as, "I'll allow this discussion to continue."
