EDIT- If I had another pick it would be Larry Johnson. He has high potential.

Larry Johnson's a malcontent with the ability to split a locker room. I'd pass on him.

I'd probably go with Steven Jackson of the Rams. He's an extremely impressive back.

Although I'm more than happy we've got McGahee.

I think i'd take him too, Real versatile.

Id definitely pass on johnson. i have some strange, unexplainable issue with him.

I got more annoyed when he broke that 47 yarder against us than when we lost to the panthers.

if not jackson then it would have to be Rod Smart . I think he plays for carolina. Biggest afro ever,EVER.unofficially( how id love there to be a little yellow face with an afro!)

Realistically,

-M. Lynch the RB from Cal that the Bills got to replace Willis

-Travis Henry could have been a good replacement

-Thomas Jones, when he was being shopped off by the Bears

-Tatum Bell, when he was being shopped off by the Broncos

Those are the ones that come to mind.

I like all but the Tatum pick. I'd have liked to make a play for Brandon Jacobs as well..

Pass. He's got a bad attitude, for one. But even more importantly, he's gonna flame out in an awful hurry. He had more than 400 carries last year, and historically, backs that break the 400 mark tend to break down.

Travis Henry or Thomas Jones would have been good. I also like Samkon Gado, although he apparently has troubles with certain blocking schemes.

Other than the blown out of proportion comments from D Vermeil his rookie season I haven't really seen anything to say he has a bad attitude.

With that said, I agree that I wouldn't have wanted him. Sure he's a bruiser but like you said the amount of carries he took also helped Jamal Anderson's career end with the Falcons.

I'm actually surprised no one said Michael Turner

Well, there was a bit of a 'thing' with Herm Edwards last year.

I didn't think of him. He's a force, and you know he's getting out of San Diego ASAP.

I see him as more of a compliment to LT more then a force. I'm not saying he's not a good player, but watching most of their games he produced more when LT was in the slot. Meaning teams had to respect LT's abilities there for removing a run supporter. There is no doubt the guy has speed and talent, i just don't see him as a feature back. He comes in and provides a spark but has the benefit of not being the focal point of any defense.

Realistically, I would say say Ahman Green too. Although he is about to hit the twighlight of his career, his experience would be great. As a veteran, he knows how to wait for his blocks to develop, when to cut and is used to the speed of the game. He may not be as fast as he was in his prime but he's still on of the faster backs in the league and he gets added value for his pass catching ability.

If I could have a dream pick though, it would be Clinton Portis. I'm not just saying that b/c he's my favorite back; I say Portis b/c I truly beleive when he's on his game, he's one of the best backs in the league. He's the complete package. He's only 200lbs but he runs like a 230-pounder and breaks an outstanding amount of tackles. However he's very elusive in the open field and is one of the fastest backs in the league too. People don't talk about his pass-catching b/c the Redskins don't use him that way much but I think if given the opportunity, he could do what Brian Westbrook and L.T. are doing.

Dominique Rhodes, or get back Chester Taylor.. ORRRR Mike BELL. I was all about Dominique Rhodes before we got McGahee hoping that's who we were going to get before his trouble with the law.. I still think that pick would have been a good pick though as long as he stays out of trouble think he has just as much to offer as McGahee and hasn't ever had a bad injury like McGahee.

Maurice Jones-Drew, he was the entire Jaguar's offense during some games. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up holding all the NFL records when he retires.

I wouldn't go that far. Yes he was a beast last year but LT's been a consistent threat for more than one season.

Brandon Jacobs, although he has not been tested to see if he can be a full season every down back. I would really like to see him in Baltimore, and believe hes gonna have a breakout year for NY. He just trucks everyone lol.
