Don't feel embarrassed; that's actually a good question. Both were incredibly sick and against the US. but, as far as I know, they were seperate.

I can't help but feel like an eye for an eye is a solution that will never resolve this conflict, at best it seems like this is just closure for those directly affected by 9/11. Remember, this was a man who was portrayed as evil in the western world, yet in his mind and the minds of a billion or so muslims we are the true evil, has there ever been an attempt to resolve differences and seek peace? no, we bomb them then they bomb us.

Well, he's now a Martyr and we are no less safe. Next scumbag up. Stay on your toes, folks.

Yeah, this has me real nervous....especially with 9/11's 10 year anniversary this year. Who knows what these crazies could do.

I do have to ask though, do you think MLK mourned Hitler?
He says he won't rejoice in the death of an enemy... doesn't say he'd mourn all deaths, so I highly doubt he did.

Can anybody tell me who are in United nations or the main members of the UN? US, Britain and who else? Russia? Germany?

I want to know if Al Queda tries to attack US, then United Nations strikes back

It's not as simple as "striking back". It's not like Al Qaeda is a country, or has any true established base. It's not like the War in Iraq, where we knew, at very least, the generalized area where Saddam was. Al Qaeda members can be everywhere, and most probably wouldn't stand out as really being members. Which is what makes this "war on terror" so difficult to undergo and such a monumental task.

I can't believe what Mendenhall said via twitter... so insensitive and out of line. He needs to keep his mouth shut because he never has anything intelligent to add; does he ever think about what he's saying?

Well, in regards to the whole September 11th comments, in his defense he's not the only one who feels that way as evidenced by the copious amounts of conspiracy theories regarding the whole thing. Not saying I share the same sentiments as him, nor defending him. Perhaps he's just a conspiracy theory nut with terrible sense of right and wrong timing.

While that sounds nice, I consider that a bit of a flaw. There are ALWAYS exceptions to the rule and mass murderers are them. These two men were evil with souls bound for hell. No, it is not as simple as "different views."
First of all wardy I'd like to say thank you for your service of our country, I think it's one of your few redeeming features :P

Personally I feel like we just destroyed the body of the man without understanding how martyrdom works, why he hated us and what drove his actions ("he was evil" is a little short sighted). I'm sure some Afghani and Iraqis who saw pieces of their loved ones in a box feel the same way about us, "mass murderers" is always going to be subjective. We've done a lot of wrong and made a lot of enemies in this world.

So apparently there are hoards of teens (14-19) on facebook and twitter that have no idea who Osama is. I can buy the fact that it was ten years ago and maybe they were too young. I'd still like to think that Kids 14-19 would know about who he was and why he is important. We still have moments of silence in schools for 9/11 and the such. So I'm willing to PERHAPS let that slide. But its like saying I didn't know who Hitler was when I was 14.

But what happened to when you don't about something important (i.e Americans shouting U.S.A! News blistering coverage)that you either 1) look it up (Google it) or 2) ask your parents. Educate yourself, rather than asking a stupid question on facebook.

I fully understand being ignorant of news regarding Osama the past few years but to not know who he is entirely? That's pretty sad.

Praying for our troops. And how they did an awesome job. Plus those families who lost 3K nearly ten years ago. Glad that they got rid of that monster!

Thank you Blood. I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I'm partial to the old world. The one my Grandfather grew up in. Civilians will likely always be casualties in a war. I find comfort in the fact that we as a nation do not target them.

It's not his fault, he's basically a slave, remember?

I was a kid back then too, but I still know exactly who he is. Youth and complete ignorance do not have to go hand in hand. I wonder if terms like "D-day" or "Pearl Harbor" means anything to them. Actually, I don't think I want to know the answer to that.

It's okay, there's still movies and Call of Duty to educate kids about D-Day and Pearl Harbor.

I was 12 on an morning when the First attack happened , then at 17 the second then again at 21 4 more , this man has been at it for a while .To the Fallen Soldiers who sought him relentlessly to those who served during this 18 years chasing a madman . Justice is served Peace be upon you for you have tried your hardest the strength you have left must be used to finish the task the machine he helped create needs dismantled , Seals , Rangers , Airman ,Spooks , the faced and the faceless this goes to you who Sacrificed much so that a great many may know peace a peace we take for granted. Count the Cost of peace the marine Cadence speaks well of this " To Acquire Peace one must prepare for War" To the People who discount this Remember the dark hours before this day , go out at midnight count the stars of a cloudy night and realize the clouds are not there forever. To the soldier in the fox hole , He knows the Cost of our Freedom the Cost of Compassion , and the Cost of Pacifism . The Soldier knows that Peace can be brokered by politicians but when it Fails and the chips are down he must do what he must. This burden weighs heavy with me My great uncle Ambros died in 2008 at our last reunion I could attend before his passing I asked people if this would ever end. a man of faith and survivor of Omaha beach and the Bulge , he said " Yes , but it will take people doing what they must to ensure peace prevails and justice with it ." I respect his opinion a ph w/ oakleaf cluster sits in my great aunts mantle near his picture in their home in Va . I know the cost , I see it on the faces of friends returning and on those about to leave for boot.

So let me get this timeline straight.

US interrogates Guantanamo Bay prisoner by possibly tortur. Then the prisoner gives up Osama main courier
US follows Osama courier and been tracking him for months
Obama wanted to originally bomb the mansion or Military atleast wanted to bomb it.
Obama has Navy Seals or CIA Operatives to begin training for mission possibly August.
Obama allows mission to go through.
Obama visits Alabama Tornado disaster
Played round of Golf
Returns to give his final approval
He does his dinner
Osama is captured and permanently compromised(killed) after he "resisted" or so US said he did
Obama makes announcement to United States of Osama death
I assume his Burial at sea takes place within 4-6 hours after his capture

Is that correct?

only reason I say CIA operatives is because in my opinion I don't think Osama was given chance to surrender and he was just assassinated right away where as Military is commonly known to capture and take prisoner of enemies rather than kill them.

Can anyone imagine what the guy who actually is responsible for killing or shooting Osama is feeling right now? On 1 hand he is probably happy and proud of doing this country such a great service, but on the other hand now he could have a bounty on him and his family. plus he now must live in fear for rest of his life knowing that he killed Al Quaeda leader and that his family and his life is in threat.

He'll be 80 years old by the time you know his name or see his face.

I was thinking about how that feels the other day and I would be willing to bet it's pretty emotional no matter how much of a professional he is. Probably largely indescribable.

What are we going to do, upset Al Qaeda and make them attack us? Some folks need to see them, I guess. I don't, but I will view them if they are released.
