Tj. Houshmandzadeh

Although Housh seems to want to return to the Baltimore Ravens, many people have been saying that his time is up here and that both sides need to "move on." Personnaly I want Housh to return and we can cut a few non-productive guys to make room for him. Here are my WR moves for this offseason:
Keep: Torrey Smith, Derrick Mason, Anquan Boldin, David Reed, Donte Stallworth, Marcus Smith, Tandon Doss (PS) and Houshmandzadeh.
Cut: Brandon Jones, Justin Harper, and James Hardy.

You left out Tandon Doss completely.
I highly doubt Stallworth or Housh return.

Agreed. With our picks today, both are probably gone. If I had to choose, I'd say Stallworth would be more likely to stay... but barely.

Stallworth? Noo. Housh. He created way more pass interferance flags and was used 100% more. I like housh

Housh would be a lot more expensive. I agree he produced more but I don't think either will come back.

I doubt it, and whilst it's nothing personal, I hope not. One of our problems last year was we had too many guys who did the same things and there was no variety in their skill set. If we go into this season with Boldin, Mason and Housh as three of our top four WRs, I will be very disappointed. At the very least I want the depth chart to look like this:

Boldin
Smith
Mason
Doss
Reed
Stallworth (maybe)

Stallworth would be very cheap IMO and I would have nothing against him being here, except that he didn't get anything like a chance to prove himself last year and I doubt much changes this year.

I don't think either Housh or Stallworth are coming back. We now have Boldin, Reed, Jones, Hardy, Harper, M. Smith, T. Smith, and Doss. I want to see Reed, T. Smith, and Doss get some serious PT this season.

The team has three young WRs behind the vets Q and Mason in Smith, Doss and Reed. Behind them, you have guys who will be trying to make the roster in Marcus Smith, James Hardy, Justin Harper others.

The team doesn't need Houshmandzadeh or Stallworth.

I dont want to see and highly doubt that Housh will be back with us, it was a mistake to bring him here. However i could see Stallworth coming back. Donte has a pretty fresh body for his age and he his highly intelligent. Him and Torrey have trained together this offseason, I think it would be a good fit to keep him around to keep some pressure off the younger guys. We really didnt get a good enough look at him, but when given the ball he made plays happen.

I think Marcus Smith is going to have to be happy with being a Special Teamer. He dropped some key passes when he was in last year. But I don't see Housh or Stallworth coming in. If Hardy makes the cut, we'd have our big target. I'm glad we have a Young WR corps with Boldin and Mason leading the pack.

I think our WR depth is going to look like this...perfect blend of youth and experience.

-Q (Possesion/Over the middle)
-Smith (Deep Threat)
-Mason (All purpose/reliable)
-Hardy (Red-zone threat)
-Doss (Future all purpose/possesion)
-Reed (Deep threat)

There is not any weakness in that WR corps.

I don't see how Marcus Smith makes the team this year. He provides absolutely nothing offensively with no real upside to speak of. I think if Hardy can prove to be a capable special teamer he will take Marcus's roster spot.

I doubt Hardy is a better gunner than Smith and that alone may lead to Marcus making the cut. Even if a WR goes down, the team has a great pass-caching RB in Rice and TEs are a big part of the offense, so they don't need much offensive potential from the 6th WR.

I really wanted Stalls to come back. But at this point i highly highly doubt it.

Boldin-Smith-Mason-Doss-Reed-Hardy/M.Smith

I'm cool with that, even if they completely got rid of the 6th reciever.

Also, although I love the kid at QB, I think Taylor would have the potential to make a move to WR if the team feels its in their best interest. But, like I've said before, I think Tyrod Taylor has the ability to become a legitimate starter in the NFL, even a premeir QB. It all depends on how the team feels about him, I'm just throwing it out there as a possibility.

I don't remember Marcus getting a single target, let alone dropping a pass last season.

I think he was targeted once or twice but never dropped any "key passes."

Wow, what a question at this point..no TJ will not be back and the Ravens would be doing an extreme disservice to all of these young wide receivers they apparently have faith in (in varying degrees). Along with playcalling, TJ was one of the main reasons David Reed finished the season with 1 end around and having one ball thrown his way (incompletion). How well do you think Torrey Smith, Tandon Doss, Reed, and for that matter possibly James Hardy and Justin Harper, would develop behind 3 veteran receivers again? They need playing time to improve and I am excited about this group if they are given the opportunity. We've already got 2 veterans in Anquan and D-Mase to show these young guys the way, no need to clog the depth chart with more aging talent. Although I like Stallworth, he will not be returning for the same reason.

And yes, in leaving Marcus Smith out, I think he will be no more than a good special teamer at this point. Considering how productive he was at New Mexico and the thought several people (including myself) had of him becoming a "poor man's" Anquan before we traded for Q, sort of disappointing to see he is just a special teams ace. Really, the only reason I included Harper above is because he has been working with Joe and company in Arizona..

Smith downed a lot of balls inside the 10 on punts and also had a block on Webb's Punt Return for a TD that was stolen from us because somehow they called it holding. He's decent on Special Teams but during the pre-season he dropped a pass for a TD. He also dropped another TD pass in the regular season, but I can't remember who. And I just now realized that he's the 3rd Smith we have on the team. We have one on offense, defense and special teams. Just like our super bowl year when we had Jamal Lewis, Ray Lewis and Jermaine Lewis.

He really didn't. He didn't get one pass thrown his way all season. I only noticed him on offense pre-snap once during the season.

Stallworth couldn't help the fact that the ONLY way Cam chose to use him was for B.S. endarounds in which when he came in the game, EVERYONE knew that that was coming so they locked it down.

keep Stallworth!

For what? If we want Boldin to have a better second season as a Ravens and see Smith and Doss make plays early on, re-signing Stallworth and increasing his role would be counterproductive.

We need to play these young Wrs like other teams do ( Steelers for exp. ). Maybe keep Stallworth and let T.J. walk and whats the 411 on Marcus Smith, Harper, and Hardy. One, if not, two of them needs to be relesed.
