The Ravens took Jimmy Smith, 6'2" and 211 pounds with a 4.4 40 time. He can cover, he can hit, and he was one of the most talented players in this draft. Obviously, I'm not happy about the delay that could have screwed us over, but it all worked out okay. I think that this was the perfect pick.

Agreed, the delay was pretty frustrating but I am extremely happy with Jimmy Smith. I have seen this kid play and he is the real deal. Well done, Ozzie.

Actually, the guy I keep hearing the most is C-Mac. Who I think, BTW, was better than Revis is.

Yea this is a great selection for the Ravens defense. If this pick would have come at anytime over the last 3 seasons, there probably would have been a parade in the streets, with the amount of people screaming for a C-Mac clone. Well the Ravens might have found someone even better, only time will tell.

I kind of wish the trade had gone through because it would have meant us picking up an addition pick(s) and probably still coming away with Jimmy.

If this guy can bring his cover skills he displayed at CU, to the Baltimore Ravens, i think it'll make Ed Reed even better. If Jimmy can lock down one side of the field, that means the defense will dictate to the QB where the ball will have to go.

Ed is a beast when he has to guess and anticipate, where the ball is going. Can you imagine how dangerous Ed would be with only one side of the field to focus on.

For years the Ravens second have been torched by a Jimmy Smith, well now they'll have one of their own to terrorize QB and offenses around the NFL.

C-Mac is a pretty good comparison as far as the athleticism goes. I also hear some compare him to Nnamdi. Smith is probably the best bump and run corner coming out this year. A lot of concern about Smith centered on his character issues, but the Baltimore locker room, I think, is strong enough to keep him under control.

I'll also go against the grain and say meh to this pick. Jimmy Smith will probably be good in a few years, but I just can't see a way that he makes an immediate impact. At best, he makes either Chris Carr or Josh Wilson expendable. So allow me to conclude with, meh.

CMac better than Revis? I was never a huge fan of CMac and actually thought he was quite overrated.

His play vs the run is the biggest issue for me tbh. If he fixes that, then he'll be a good CB

I love the pick too, but I will say this. If it wasn't Smith, it would have been either Hayward or Wilkerson. Both went to two teams we will be battling for Conference supremacy for years to come. I really hope it works out because I would hate for Hayward to become a beast and we could have prevented the Squeelers from getting him.

I love this pick. In the draft video for Jimmy Smith they said he only allowed 11 completions in his last two seasons at Colorado. That's INSANE and he definitely IS the Shutdown CB we need.

The guy's size and ability are awesome but his character issues worry me, but once he's in Harb's doghouse, he's either make to the team or sitting on the bench. We'll see how he's panned out...
