NFL Top 100: Players Of 2011

111 posts in this topic

NFL Top 100

Here's a good way to see how fans rate the players. Anyone interested to see who wins the hype bowl? (Players will be voting themselves, but you can see the fan vote if you vote on the site's computer-generated matchups)

So far I haven't seen any Ravens players in the matchups, and I've done around 60. I guess none of our guys are good enough to even qualify for the top 100. Anyone else try this?

The fan voting results really don't interest me. I have a feeling Brady will win though.

I can't wait for the show on the 30th.

EDIT: Apparently, DeAngelo Hall is a better player than Nick Mangold.

Top 100 of just last year is to much though top 100 of the 2000s I would get but not just last year the placment would only matter when it gets inside the top 20, and if Ray is not in the top 5 I will be throwing a brick through my TV

I just got asked about Oher but no one else as of yet. Surely they're not trying to say he's our best...

I think the list is rankings the top 100 current players. Those compiling it will obviously factor in the 2010 season but players' careers as a whole will be looked at as well.

I just got asked about Boldin, Rice, Suggs, Lewis, and Reed in the first 10ish picks. You guys really haven't got them?

They had a pre show for the countdown that broke down where the players came from even what colleges had the most representation. I am pretty sure the ravens were tied for second with a few other teams with 7 or so players in the top 100.

You have to wonder how people are voting? Who's the better player, career wise, or who was better last year? Because it's hard to make a case for Peyton Hills having 55% of the votes against Randy Moss if it's career wise.

Eh, pretty good, so far. Thanks. I'm anxious to see the Ravens on the list.

Lance Briggs made me more of a fan because of this video. Giving major props to Ray Lewis and getting a good jab at Brett Favre all in a 5 minute clip

Personally, I think Shaun Phillips is way to low. They even said he is the heart and soul of a very good defense, and the dude hasn't even reached his ceiling. I'd at least put him in the 70's.

Even though I feel Gore should be a bit higher and I'm not sure Berry deserves to be on the list yet, I loved both their segments. Spikes and Haley presented them well.

I found it pretty funny when they showed Berry staring down the Ravens DBs as they went through their pre-game routine before the play-off game.

TO should been in 80's. If it wasn't for him. Bengals prob. would of had 1st overall pick.

Haloti Ngata 52% over... Ladanian Tomlinson. I guess some people are voting by the basis of who's better NOW, but that's still pretty impressive.

But he's losing 45 to 55 to MJD. Fair I guess. I also saw Suggs getting crushed by Demarcus Ware. Now THAT's unfair.

Also, Revis and Asomugah are dead even in the fan poll.

People just don't know. Ware had more sacks but both tied for 37 QB hurries according to Football Outsiders and I bet Suggs was better against the run.

Plus the better tackles tend to exist in the AFC. Suggs has to play Whitworth and Thomas twice a year. That's a tall order.

I remember you're a big Suggs enthusiast too. He should be in the top 15-20.

Good point.

I am. Too often, I don't think the guy gets the credit he deserves. He's a top-20 player in my book.

Suggs would be even better (statistically) if he had a threat across from him who would also command attention from blockers. Like Woodley and Harrison do for each other. Even without that kind of guy he is immense. The divisional playoff game this year was a thing to behold.

Agreed.. And if you base it on his career he should be at the top of the list despite all the obvious reasons to hate the guy.

There were a few games where he was the best defender on the field for both teams. It's too bad we couldn't beat the Falcons cause he tore them a new one.

How is Darren McFadden not ranked higher? He was one of the best RB in the NFL last year IMO.
