Preseason 2: Minnesota Vikings At Baltimore Ravens

199 posts in this topic

MN so far: 14 1st downs, 7/8 (87%) on 3rd downs, 226 yds offense, & 17 points. We're sorely lacking in defense tonight.

Thats what you get when you have Frank walker and Cory ivy starting

Troy Isn't gonna win the job with scrambling.Showing a little heart and hustle is great, but he needs to prove he can throw the football on the big stage. And soon.

yeah. go figure, the moment i post about how troy should win the job, he gets sacked for a 15 yd loss......

that is why troy should be the starter

He has thrown the ball 4 times...He is to quick to run. Needs to settle down and throw the ball and not panic. Im not sold on him at all based on this game and the last. Then again im not completely sold on boller

I wouldn't pick Smith solely on 3/4 and 25 yds. He can scramble better than Boller, but I'd like to see him make some key passes.

That interception was bad.

The worst part is, it was both Troy Smith AND Mark Clayton's fault. Smith placed the ball awkwardly, and Clayton couldn't hang on even though he was able to get a hand on it.

That was Troy Smiths fault...Pass was thrown way behind him

rule of thumb for a reciever is that if it hits your hands, not to mention both your arms too...YOU CATCH THE DAMN BALL!!

Ya I agree, but the pass was still way off and if you want to analyze the QB race subtract 1 point from Troy because the was a bad pass.

true, it wasnt the most accurate pass but it still should have been caught. i guess we'll just have to see how kyle and big joe do

If that were Boller who through that pass, He would have been mangled by everyone on here, but since it was troy, it's not so bad then is it?

this game as bad as it looks stats wise? im in nc and cant see the game. troy 3/5 for 25yards which 11 was in a check down on 3rd and 20something? geesh i hope flacco does something this game when he gets in. <_<

Defense has been terrible. Cant get off the field on 3rd downs. I will say the starting corners are on the bottom of the depth chart but they have looked terrible.

Troy smith looked average at best, i would say below average. He was too quick to run, wasnt making quick reads and often times threw the ball to late. O line has been decent and Ray rice has been amazing.

I'm so disappointed in this game...Ray Rice & special teams have been the only real highlights thus far.

Honestly, the sooner Joe Flacco gets in the game to (hopefully) improve, the sooner this game can end and I can get back to playing Madden...

I still don't see the point in playing Boller.

Chances are we wont make the playoffs and we'll just be wasting time by starting Boller.

same point as playing troy smith and flacco. we have no idea who is going to play qb this year based on performance so far so until someone comes away with a performance that at least mimics that of a nfl quarterback this is what the teams needs to do.

Guys lets hold a QB competition on the message board between all of us and i am pretty sure one of us could do better then Boller and Smith have done this game..This is just pathetic.

You would think when guys have a chance to be a starting Qb in the NFL they would show something, but they are just so flat both of them. Maybe they are both giving it there all and they just dont have what it takes to be a starter
