Away Games

I am planning on heading to the Ravens vs. Dolphins game on Oct 19th and I was wondering if anyone has the inside scoop on where to stay, good bars, tailgating, where to eat? Anything would help, I don't know much about Miami except that to expect large bar tabs and if they will ever make the playoffs they will probably choke...again!

I live in Miami. Im not really a night person, but I could give you some advice. Hotels, I would recommend the Yankee Clipper in Fort Lauderdale Beach. You are not too far away from the stadium, right on the beach, and right in the Las Olas area, which is a great area. Where to eat? I ussually eat at home, so no real recommendations. Same places as anywhere else in the country. Make sure to visit the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel once, its great at night. Anything else? Tailgating, I would recommend purchasing a Parking pass. There are many available on Ebay, you will save money, and be closer to the entrance and have a better tailgating area

I live in New York. Had a buddy pick me up a ticket for the November 16th game in the Meadowlands. Never been to an away game before, looking forward to piling on the purple and black and the stitched Ed Reed jersey among the loud mouth New York fans.

I'm trying to bid on tickets at EBay for the Ravens-Giants game, remember parking on the Medowlands lots is permit only, due to the fact they are building a new football stadium and Xanadu which is a family entertainment center. If you don't have a permit, you have to park 2 miles away and be shuttled by bus to the stadium for $20.

Really? Gee, Thanks for telling me lol..I probably would have like gone there expecting there to be a parking lot.

I checked this on the www.meadowlands.com website, you should try to bid on Parking Passes on E-Bay if you can.

Well, if we're going to have a crowd we might as well eat together first! Let's organize a little pro-Ravo's cookout before the game if we will have 5-10 folks, whadayasay?

P.S. I can bring meats/chips/soda but not a grill or a parking spot with which to cook, being as though I have no car here in NYC.

If interested, let's organize.

Hey! Four of my friends and I flew down to Miami last season and we will be going back this year. We had a blast, even at the game. I did make a fool out of myself talking trash just prior to Stover missing that field goal. I do not know what you like to do for fun but we pretty much hang out in Miami at South Beach and just bar hooped Friday and Saturday. We stayed at the Sherato Miami Mart but a friend of mine did recomend the Yankee Clipper as a very nice hotel and area to stay for this year.

Most football fans stay at the Yankee Clipper. Right on the beach, with great night life, and a nice hotel overall. The Yankee Clipper is a Sheraton also, and its closer to the stadium. And its pretty cheap. About $90/night during August, so for the game, it might be cheaper.

making a fool of yourself just before your team screws up is kinda what the away team fans are supposed to do, right?

I'll probably head down to Miami, but if I decide to do so it will certainly be a last minute, fly down saturday, crash somewhere fly back sunday after the game sort of thing.

All depends on how jacked up the airline industry is by then and what pricing we're dealing with.

Wish the game were later in the year...
