Top QB List In NFL

130 posts in this topic

A guy started a forum on NFL.com about the top QBs, well i checked it out and changed a few things...didnt bother ranking the bottom feeders only the top guys

check it out

1. Tom Brady >>Peyton Manning
2. Peyton Manning >>Tom Brady
3. Drew Brees >>Aaron Rodgers
4. Aaron Rodgers >>Drew Brees
5. Ben Rothelisberger >>Phillip Rivers
6. Phillip Rivers >>Big Ben
7. Mike Vick >>Vick
8. Matt Ryan >>Flacco - I put Joe before Ryan because he has won in the playoffs, and they pretty much are identical statistically
9. Sam Bradford >>Ryan
10. Tony Romo >>>Bradford
11. Joe Flacco >>Romo
12. Matt Schaub >>dont care about the rest
13. Josh Freeman
14. Kyle Orton
15. Jay Cutler
16. Eli Manning
17. Matt Cassel
18. Mark Sanchez? He should be lower
19. Matthew Stafford
20. Colt McCoy
21. David Garrard
22. Jason Campbell
23. Matt Hasselbeck
24. Ryan Fitzpatrick
25. Donavon McNabb
26. Brett Favre
27. Carson Palmer
28. Vince Young
29. Alex Smith
30. Chad Henne
31. Any Cardinal QB
32. Jimmy Clausen.

Want to mention, the only argument seemed to be who was #1, Peyton, Brady, or Brees...I think Rodgers is up there as well as Rivers...Flacco is above Ryan for me, Ryan hasnt done anything in the playoffs and they are in the weaker conference, they had one of the best teams in the NFC and home field.

what the heck does that mean? go check nfl.com they have this message board and they got this list going and i made changes and posted it, thought i'd show you guys here what they were saying...

Its meant to show all the Flacco haters out there where he's at in the league, and in the fans eyes...He's one of the top QBs

Obviously the guy who started was a Rams fan or something, Bradford above Romo, Flacco, and Schaub already? No...maybe in time but not yet, he hasnt done ennough

Haha, I think he meant them ranking "any Cards QB" over Clausen.

I agree with Romo. Bradford's successful rookie year isn't enough to crack the top 10 IMO.

The 'rest' of the list I don't really care about but I did have to lol at Blt's comment!

I don't get all of this Bradford love. He had 18 TDs and 15 ints for a qb rating of 76.5 his rookie year. Flacco had 14 TDs and 12 ints for a rating of 80.3 his rookie year, in a much tougher division with a team that primarily ran the ball. Last year, Flacco had 25 TDs and 10 ints for a rating of 90.3. How are you going to justify putting Bradford above Flacco? I agree with where scrock put Flacco. Can anyone say bulletin board material?

Reposting mine from the thread on the NFL's website, with further moves. Moved Rivers and Vick up ahead of Ben, and Flacco and Ryan up behind him.

Almost none of the lists posted have Flacco and Ryan next to each other. I can see people making the argument that Ryan is better (I disagree with it, but I can see the argument) but not putting them next to each other is asinine and absurd imo.

Ranking Bradford a top 10 QB after his first season is also stupid to me. He's got potential, but first thing on the agenda he's got to prove he's not a one-year wonder.

Since when does one "good" rookie season (he wasn't all that great, but still) make you the tenth best quarterback in the league...? I'll never understand some fans.

I think he got ranked high because the team wasnt great before he got there and he made due with a weak WR options...but he didnt its a small sample size, he only played one year and he never won his playoff game.

Thats what separates Joe from Ryan, their stats are pretty much the same BUT Flacco has set record for wins in the playoffs in his first 3 seasons..and most of those victories on the road...ROAD WARRIORS = RAVENS

Ryan Fitzpatrick > Colt McCoy. Personally, I don't think he got enough credit for what he did with that atrocity of an OL. And Brett Favre should be at the bottom. He had as many turnovers as Derek Anderson, Max Hall and John Skelton did put together. 11 TDs to 24 TOs. Yikes.

Most casual fans probably couldn't tell you any of the Bills starters on the o-line were. I think Eric Wood and Andy Levitre were their starting guards but that's about all I know.

Bradford over Romo, Flacco, and Schuab. Thats awful.
[/quote]
Definitely. All 3 are unquestionably better than him.

I've always loved how much love Ryan gets and how little Flacco gets (in comparison) when their stats are practically identical, and Flacco has playoff victories.

That's what happens when you're the third pick, compared to the 18th - unless you put up some BIG numbers, it takes more time than the guy who went high and has the spotlight on him from day one.

This list is horrible. All wrong in my opinion especially if you are going off of last year performances which i assume judging by the whole Brady over Manning thing. Vick should be number two and Bradford at about 17 and Stafford, Smith Favre,Clausen ,Henne, Sanchez are the worst Qb's in the league. Add an aging Hasselback.

...But they're not going by just last year. And remember, when Stafford was healthy (for about three games...), he put up some very good numbers.

I'm not going entirely off last year.

I also stopped grading them at around 15? or so? and just left it where it was.

Brady over Manning can be a pretty back and forth debate. Brady has more rings, but he's also got a better coach, a better team, and a better system. I certainly like Manning more, but if both retired today Brady would be better imo.

Eli Manning was up too high. I think that Colt McCoy is the future of Cleveland and I think they should have started him earlier in the year. David Garrard is underrated and should be up higher as well. As for Flacco, I'd put him a couple spots higher than Ryan, somewhere in the early teens. I also think Manning is better than Brady and Rodgers is better than Brees.

Stafford is weak. Hurt every year. There is not enough evidence to support him being good.

Brady's rings all suspect at this point. IMO Peyton is better by far at being a QB.

There's also not enough evidence of him being one of the worst QBs in the league. Personally, I don't think he belongs anywhere on that list yet. Incomplete grade thus far.
