Jet Fan Coming To Baltimore

21 posts in this topic

My wife & i look forward to the schedule release every offseason because that's the day we start to plan our vacation. This year it's going to be Baltimore and while I know it's waaayyy early, I was hoping to get some basic info from you guys. Where is the stadium in relation to the airport & downtown? would you suggest renting a car or is there enough public transportation to get around? Good places to stay & eat?

We love checking out all the places where the locals eat & drink and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance GO JETS.

There is plenty of public transportation; you will not need a car. Choose a downtown hotel and you'll be able to walk to the stadium and inner harbor. Downtown is vibrant and loaded with places to eat.

Been looking at some accomodations in Monticello, Upper Fells Point & Canton. Was wondering which areas are within walking distance of the stadium?

Those are long walks. Look for ones listed as "inner harbor". Try the Sheraton, Hilton, Marriott, Holiday Inn, Days Inn, to name a few.

i am from VA and my wife and i attended the Dec. 5th game for the Ravens vs Steelers. we stayed at the which wasn't far from the Stadium at all. i believe that the Holiday Inn was a little closer.

we'll be attending the season opener for the Ravens vs Steelers and possibly for the Ravens vs Jets. Baltimore was a very nice place and i was in Raven Heaven shopping in the stores with all of the Ravens merchandise. : )
Thanks for the help buddy. We were looking at those hotels last night and that's probably the area we'll stay in. We're looking at having a group of us from the Jet's forum come into town for the game. Assuming there will be a game of course.

Looks like we've found the place we're going to stay. There'll be 6 of us coming in from different parts of the country and we've found a 3 br house in the Inner Harbor 600ft from Camden Yards. All we need now is for there to actually be a season!

JetsKnicks1,

For Baltimore public transit info go to http://mta.maryland.gov/ and click on either local bus, light rail or Metro Subway. Light rail is okay most of the time except going to and from M and T Bank Stadium before and after Ravens games.

Thanks Nightman. The description of the house says it's an easy walk to the stadium but we're not bringing a car so I'm sure we'll be using public transport to get around town.

The MTA site doesn't include the Baltimore Water Taxi, which should still be running a robust schedule at the time of the Jets game. The advantage of the water taxi over MTA busses and rail is that the taxis are not bogged down in traffic on city streets. Water taxis runs between most of the downtown entertainment attractions:

Thanks for the info guys, the water taxi looks cool. The aquarium looks good too and while I say I'd like to check it out, odds are we'll be spending most of our time in your fine drinking establishments.

That would be a plus all that Ravens merchandise... I would be in heaven. I live in Morgantown WV, and all you see is steelers merchandise everywhere, it sucks for me.
