Irish Raven

London Game 2011

Well this belongs in the other teams forum

CBA aside, reports are it'll be Bears at Tampa for this years game in London.
This is the second time in three years the Bucs have given up a home game, I was at the last one against the Patriots in Wembly Stadium

I'm just very suprised it's Tampa once again. But I suppose they have the whole Glazer connection with Mancheter United.
I'm going to stroll over to the Bucs forums and see what their reaction is. Some will be happy but probably a whole lot of unhappy season ticket holders too.

Been reported in a few places
Chicago Tribune for example

Definitely, Bears and Tampa are two good teams

And both have fans worldwide, the Bear are a famous team and the Bucs have a connection with Manchester United.
And many attending will support the home team of course

Should be a good game, two good teams.
I'm just very surprised the Bucs did it again, second time in three years

If the Ravens gave up a home game, I'd come to this site and watch fans scream murder over it.

I believe the reason the Bucs are going overseas again is because they have such trouble selling home games. IIRC all of their games were blacked out last season despite them having a major turn around. Seems like a good candidate to send and sell out a stadium overseas instead of empty seats at home.

Should be a good match-up with two playoff caliber teams.

Read the Bucs and Bears forums. Not suprisingly, more Bucs fans against it. The Bears are one of the more famous franchises, more famous then the Ravens anyway and have worldwide support.

But you could pick any two NFL teams and whoever loses the home game would be against it

On the plus side, you have over 80,000 fans going to this

New England at Tampa two years ago.

A sellout you'll have to agree

I'm glad its not the Ravens.

As for the game being good. It'll probably be raining and the players will be jet lagged. And the game will be like all other London games, a semi-uninteresting game.

Hey, Pu's back!

The London game has never interested me. I prefer being able to pick the games I go to and support the Ravens both on the road and at home. The atmosphere at REAL games is electric and the fans are much, much better.

I found it quite sad that this is true, but I suppose it is to be expected, being as a vast, vast majority of fans are neutral or casual followers.

Does it sound like a good thing to you guys or a bad thing that we now have a London game with two teams of the same conference? To me, this decision is bad because for the 2nd time in 3 years, they're taking a home game from the Bucs, and conference games are more important than non conference games.
