Our Defense

I think we are gonna see a level of play from the defensive side of the ball that will surprise us all. I think we have the talent/depth to shut EVERYONE down this year. I think we are gonna see some pretty good production from the offense also! I say we go 5-1 and win the Division. Alot of "experts" and naysayers have us winning 5 or 6 games. I definitely see playoffs this season.

I seriously doubt that we will finish the season with a losing record. I expect a 10-6 season. The playoffs are a definite possibility.

It all depends on the o-line, QBs and injuries.

But our D looks NASTY.

i'm worried about McAlister's knee. it's still swollen. remember Adam Terry? his ankle wasn't at full strength and look what happened. i don't want the same thing to happen to McAlister...

we have a few new young defensive players now so im not to worried, but mcalister would be a huge missing part to our defense i think we all relize that after last season. It could take its toll if we cant use him. -_-

Atleast we got quality backups but I still hope McAllister gets better. Our defense is just BAAAAAAAD...

Yeah the CB depth and overall technique is vastly improved from last year.

Our defense AND special teams are definitely going to carry us this season while the offense will be playing catch-up for most of the season probably. And I can honestly see this defense leading us to something like a 9-7 record at least. This is not me being an optimistic Ravens fan, this is me seeing and realizing things as a football fan in general.

It's also the reason am selecting our Defense/Special Teams in every fantasy league I am doing. We had 3 picks, 6 sacks, 2 fumbles recovered, and Figurs almost returned a punt for a TD in our first true game of the season. That would have equated to a lot of fantasy points...

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've got our DST in two leagues, as well. Even if our total defense isn't the best, which it is certainly capable of being, I think we're going to cause enough turnovers to make up for it.

OUR DEFENSE is gonna be awsome this season, I definatly could see us having the #1 overall D. Hopefully the helmet radios help more than they hurt us .

The Helmet radios are gonna help our team a lot man. Think how fast they are going to know whats going on. Instead of relaying signals to eachother. Its gonna be AWESOME.

his rollout wont be effective forever, defenses will catch on fast and then what? through the middle and IR? drop back 30yards and throw some Madden bombs? he has to be more than a one trick pony.

Defense and Special Teams (along with a competent, conservative, non-turnover laden offense) wins championships (see: 2000-2001). I have no doubts our D will be even better than last year and the year before; these guys are hungry and smell blood and I cannot wait to see them in action come September 7!

and besides... What team would want to lose 2 openers to the same team? Especially when that team is a rival? I know the defense doesnt want to.

Ravens defense has always been tough but age is starting to kreep up. Ed Reed is pivitol to the defense, he's got to play 15 games for the defense to be as good as the past. 8-8 or a 9-7 season is more realistic.

Well hopefully now under a new head coach and offensive coordinator our offense will be more agressive so we don't have to rely on our defense so much. I've always said we have the offensive weapons to do great things on offense, but the playcalling ever since, well, ever, has held us back considerably.
